They were off the bottom when the Suns were 93pts up, but Allen's late goal sent them back there.

Expected a rough start, but a bit worse than anticipated, and as desensitised I have been over the past few years, was still a harsh reality check.
We do have a solid cohort of young players, they just need time and opportunities. A few (more than a few!) more are needed for sure.

Luko, Richards and Berry for Houston and a first (and some later pick shuffles).
West Coast are in a heavy rebuild development phase. They have talent. They are just in our peak 2020, 2021, 2022 phase. They will get better as the season goes along and games are put into their youngsters. But they need to find away to amass 2 or 3 first rounders this year, id be even looking to trade out of the drafts Tasmania will compromise to achieve this. I think they will be fine. Just need time unfortunately and they will suck for awhile. Plus Gold Coast look set to finally push for finals I think. So for all we know West Coast just played one of the best teams in the comp.
Thats a good haul for Houston. 2 best 23 players potentially 3 for one player. Cant be too upset. Ports posturing was funny though. Saying they sold him cheap. Houston is good but he isnt that good lol.

Luko is a soft 1m/year pretender, beautiful kick when in space but he ain’t up to a marking forward role. Not ever AA quality. The one thing FAITH got right (saying not rated top 8 in 2018 super draft)
The Pies guy was talked about as a third round type player. Marginal at best
Media all over Powa were shafted with the trade and I agree 110%
And Berry for the first rounder in the draft. No first round draft pick this yr for Port

Would you trade Houston and pick 8 for Luko, Richards and pick 15??
We are judging a deal too early. Let's see how the trade works out long term. And well Houston is at the back end of his career. Lump isn't far of his prime, berry is highly rated and pick 15 could end up a future hof. We don't know. And yes I think it was a good trade to be honest. Port are probably just posturing to sell it to their fans. Whether Houston was there or not, that shitshow would have still happened. That's there list.
