They're good players. Gifted, but good. It's painfully obvious, no need to get your knickers in a tangle

Based on reading the conversation, I think I know what you are trying to say but it came out wrong. I presume you are trying to say that due to a gifted run by the AFLs want to always play Collingwood at the MCG and when they travel they always play prime time footy in major states severely reducing the stress on his body and gifting him a longer term career. A lack of injuries has also helped. Sidebottom is another.

No doubt he is as classy a player to ever play the game though. No doubt about that.

Collingwood certainly get gifted everything from a programming perspective. At least their fans always turn up and the team usually puts out an effort worth watching.

It annoys me that Carlton and Essendon get given similar treatment as though they're cut from the same cloth. In reality they have largely been junk for decades

The original post regarding Pendlebury and Sidebottom was a little hyperbolic sure.

However I would have thought the suggestion that while they are very talented and have been gun players, they may have also benefitted from playing for the AFL's golden child and all the perks that come with it for all these years was pretty clear.

MY Collingwood Magpies certainly get gifted everything from a programming perspective. At least OUR fans always turn up and MY team usually puts out an effort worth watching.

Fixed that for you.

Whats crazy is that despite all of their hand outs and advantages - we have the same number of premierships as them since we entered the league in 1991.

Meh Beveridge spoke well and graciously

I was hoping he'd be ultra salty
If it wasn't for two of the most one sided umpiring displays we have ever seen in the 2016 prelim and grand final he wouldn't have a premiership. If GWS and Sydney were Victorian.teams AFL house would of been burned to the ground.

I can see them getting a good run against Carlton next week.

Games at the MCG:

Scott Pendelbury - 257

Adelaide Football Club - 79

By my rough estimation - we should overtake Pendle's for matches at the MCG in about the year 2110 (which according to my username is our next flag).
Someone mentioned last night that Pendles has played at the MCG more games than the Bulldogs too.

How many times have we played with sidebottom?

Victorian side has one decent season = prime night games for the next three years.

Non-Victorian side has one poor season = dump timeslots for the next three years.

Rinse and repeat.

Bulldogs getting absolutely destroyed by the umpires in their 100th year celebration is chefs kiss
AFL figure they have already umpired them to their 1 flag per century...

I wonder how good or bad PA were based on how the Bullies played.
I suppose we'll find out later today. If they lose to Richmond all hell will break out.
Port will smash Richmond, but that won't tell us anything about Port.

Expect they will finish around mid table. Too little depth.
