Biggest trend in 2025 is that these momentum swings are huge and seemingly inevitable.

Good coaches are already working on how to stop opposition momentum and extend their own.

So you’re saying coaches are now working on how to score more often whilst denying opposition the opportunity to score. Wow, we can put 4D chess behind us and we’ve probably skipped 5D. Truly amazing stuff.

Only one game but Freo looked to be lacking some spark. They have plenty of quality players but you have to question if they have the right coach.

You would be concerned if you were a freo supporter that they are wasting another season.

Have a few good players out.

Not saying they win but they have some decent ones to return

Really need this Geelong audit to find some shit out that will cripple them like loss of premiership points and trade sanctions and draft sanctions

For about the last decade most of the footy world has looked at Cats list and said it’s too old and they’re on the way down. How is it that with this massively over-priced list, only a very small % of people predict a flag. They’ve got great talent ID, they’re well run, they have a high end coaching group, massive home ground advantage and an extra $10m in cap due to costa living and yet, on average, the footy fans/industry reckon they’re good for about 5th.

Shai Bolton will help with that
And a cuople of others that are handy...

Thanks Grouchy old man. But once again you are off the mark - thats not what I am saying.

I am saying that momentum shifts seem to be very prevalent in 2025. How you handle them will be an incredible important part of gameplan and structure in 2025.

Come on, who looks at the ladder 2 games into round 1.5? At the end of the round, 4 teams will have played an extra game. It’s a stupid concept, but drawing a line 1/4 way through the second round is trying to make it worse than it is.

As always - you have completely missed the point.

Maybe time to step away and get stuck into 3 bottles of over ripe, over priced high alcohol Barossa shiraz and throw darts at a Neil Craig dart board.

The poster was just suggesting that the planning of the first two rounds wasn't well done considering that at the end of tonight there will be several fan bases who have watched their team play twice - whilst 5 teams haven't played a single game.

I think they still have the talent, but the wrong coach. Longmuir's game style isn't going to fulfill their potential. I really hope we're not in the same boat of having what I think is a good list being built, but the wrong person to lead it.

This is where I've been sat for a while. On talent, I think they're capable of top 4, and that's where I (begrudgingly) ended up putting them in my ladder prediction. But Longmuir completely shoots down any confidence I have in them.
