They had a pretty handy fitness bloke and a near new facility.

Not sure where the lowly resourced bit comes from. I mean the team they played against is far worse off
Yep, they've always been a perennial powerhouse alright

There's no question the guy can coach, but he's got a plan A and that's about it.

He's got a lesser squad now than he had in 21.
Will be interesting to see if he gets another job post this one

What’s that got to do with what they had at the time?
How pathetically small their club is?

The failed mergers? Being bailed out by a diamond merchant? The low membership and crowds? That every returning Vic big name heads to Geelong / Collingwood/ Carlton etc in preference?

They're a minnow, it's why they've sucked for decades and why what Goodwin's achieved there is actually pretty damn impressive

Yeah but he also had the help of, Paul Roos laying the foundations.
An all timer in Max gawn
2 elite mids in Oliver & Petracca
2 elite defenders in May & Lever
elite forward in Kosi
Some very very good players in Viney, Brayshaw, Salem, fritsch and Jackson
The best fitness guy in the business.
These things were all relevant at the time.
Half the stuff you’re mentioning had zero influence at the time.
In the end you still have to win it, but you can’t help but feel that team has been wasted, for whatever reasons.

Bruce and Dennis for me . Whately best of the current bunch imo but can be a bit annoying.
As for who is the best commentator to paint a mental picture of whats happening in a footy game
a blind mate prefers Whately.

Poll certainly doesn’t think the persecuted Kelli Underwwod to be a Fine Commentator.

There’s a genuine difference in what’s required when calling radio v TV. On radio description of play is critical and non-negotiable. TV is different as far as I’m concerned, I’ve got eyes, I can see what’s happening, so I like commentators that add to that. I don’t care if they deviate to off topic chats about their playing days, that’s more entertaining to me than listening to them call what I can see for myself.

They were 10th favourite for the flag going into the 2021 season, paying 22/1

They weren't some sure thing

The criticism of Goodwin is just stunning. It's like Vader bagging Travis Head after a failure despite dominating previous tests

This could have a huge bearing on Pies ability to return to finals...

This could be massive for them - best player in the AFL and the Collingwood side relies upon him massively.

Heard caller this morning - Charlie from Angaston (Collingwood supporter) who said he had heard from Nick’s father (he knows him and speak regularly)/that Nick might not play at all this season. If that is the case, massive.

Collingwood double ups - Adelaide, Brisbane, Carlton, Fremantle, Hawthorn and Melbourne.

Yep, Goody got Paul’s chocolates just like Choco got Jacks.

I hope someone steals Nick’s chocolates.

**Goody still has a premiership as a coach, great effort and good on him!!

Appears the wheels have fallen off & key players want out.

Taken from a premiership & best side to out of a premiership window very quickly.

If Dees struggle again next season, imo his time will be up.

Still say they don't win a flag without Covid.

I had the Pies bouncing back into final next sesson, but if their best player is missing or down on influence, they could easily miss again.

From Plantar Fasciitis? That seems an overeaction. Why doesn't he fix it like Harvey by jumping off the kitchen table? ;)

I've had it myself (Policeman's Heel), and also Cinema Goers Knee.
