Was the Big Bad Wolf... lots of huff & puff.

Side by side Walker finished ahead of Charlie in the goal kicking rankings except for 2 seasons. 2020 *bad walker year and 2013 when Walker did his knee. In two other seasons they finished equal. Dixon only had 3 seasons with a return of 40 or more goals, never breaking the 50. Walker has had 8 inclusive of 4 returns of over 50 goals. Walker finished equal or better of Dixon when ever Dixon kicked over 40 in a season.

They arent even on a comparison level

I would rate Dixon as a taller Murphy. And no better than if we put ROB down there full time. A good game for Dixon was sometimes merely kicking a goal. But two goals a game was a rated good game for Dixon.

In reality you wouldnt compare careers between the two. Both are completely different. Walker and Hawkins are the better matchup. Dixon as forward simply doesnt rate.

Its brutal review I know but to me he simply was a waste of time at full forward and probably easily one of the key reasons Port couldnt take the next step.

5 over 30

Daniher, Cameron, Lester, Neale and Zorko.

And your point?

PS : we had 4 in our last game against Sydney (Bond, Curtin, Michalanney and Dowling)

Well I think he is arguing the experience in the side outweighs the lack of experience.

But I am also an advocate that experience doesnt count for as much as it used to. Because there are less 1:1 contests now and there is team defence. Not to mention its all team ball movement, game plans, zones and running patterns type of game. Players are that well drilled now in professionalism and leadership through the grass roots that anyone making to AFL level let alone a grand final will be more than up to the task.

Dwyane is fine in smallish doses.

Underwood was just not born to be a commentator.
Unfortunately we ain’t seen nothing yet.

Why have the best available to do a job ( no matter whom) when we can all bathe in mediocrity?

SEN Sync is the only option and a good one to avoid the thought police.

So Midweektackle on Fox Footy put up that on Saturday, the Brisbane Lions will have 5 players 20 years or younger playing in the GF!
Had to laugh the other day when Kochhead on 5AA mentioned how young Port were and was effectively using it as an excuse for their finals demise ......but in the same breath said ' we don't talk about that at Port Adelaide'

He is an absolute tool.

No mention of Lukosius's impact .....but I've always agreed with these thoughts by Johnston .....they've got their big trade targets, traded for now .....missed the flag, and opportunity is now lost

List is too thin ....too many "B" graders

Why Johnson foresees Port missing finals in 2025 and Cornes’ concerns with the list

Brad Johnson can’t see Port Adelaide playing finals in 2025.

He spoke about the club’s future with Power great Kane Cornes, who also foresees Port Adelaide struggling next season after analysing the list.

While the duo can see some improvement from the club’s young players, he thinks that the loss of a couple of veterans could see their premiership window close for 2025.

Cornes in particular is worried about the club’s depth, as he feels that the Power are in real danger of missing the top eight despite the club’s best 23 a finals side if they’re fit enough.

Johnson: “For Port Adelaide, can you actually see them playing finals next year?”

Cornes: “No, can you?”

Johnson: “No, I can't either.

“You sort of go ok, the improved players this year were Jason Horne-Francis, Willem Drew, Miles Bergman I thought was good, and so was Jordon Sweet.

“But you just sort of go through and you go they’ve gone 11th, 3rdand 2nd. It's like the last two years have been their opportunity to actually get themselves into a Grand Final and potentially win it.

“Now you’ve got Travis Boak at the end, Charlie Dixon has retired, and you go, where are they going to be?

Cornes: “Well they've really put themselves in a position where they said, ‘We're never going to rebuild’, at least while David Koch, Ken Hinkley and this footy department with Chris Davies is there.

“They've essentially said, ‘Rebuilding is essentially the easy way out’, which I kind of agree with and I kind of respect it because it is the easy way out. Adelaide went to rebuild five years ago … five years down the track you’re still bottom for.”

Johnson: “Why is it that we're doubting them in our footy minds that we're going, ‘They’re not going to play finals’ … even though this list has gone third and second?”

Cornes: “So I think their best 22 is really strong, their best 22 is a finals team.

“But once it drops off and you need to go to players 26 and 27, then their depth just isn't there and they don't have the draft picks to replenish their squad at the moment.”

Don’t agree that Port were all that young in the finals.

They had one 19 or 20 year olds in their side and had 6 players aged 29 years and older. They have numerous players in the 26-27 year old bracket.

That hardly is a young profile.

That Hinkley puff piece on the AFL website is going to infuriate our neighbours lol.
He might not be much of a finals coach, but Hinkley is a master at manipulating the media narrative.

He went from the villain for his antics after the Hawthorn game, to 2 days later being the victim.
He's gone from sacked if they don't make the GF, to now having people 'hoping' he will continue.
He's constantly managed to use other clubs vacant coaching positions as a tool to ensure his continuation at Port.

He's a flog, but he plays the media game expertly.

Is this considered a bad thing?
How many of the Triple M tools do we need to have on a broadcast? There are others out there who just might have more brain cells that could offer something as well. We don't have to stay in the 1970's, ex-player only mould.

Yes not having the best person for the job is a bad thing.
If we could have Bontempelli should we pick Laird as a starting mid ?
Have never been a MMM listener, too much wank not enough content.
No matter sex, colour, creed ( apart from port’s) age or whatever should matter.
If you don’t open it up to the best caller with the best football knowledge we
as consumers are not getting the best, simple.
