It really was quite sad and you could tell Jake Paul realised pretty quick if he did hit him he could kill him, it was very obvious he was fighting a 58 year old.
Jake Paul just isn't a very good boxer, that's why it went the distance.

Nothing to do with killing Tyson, he's just not a boxer.

Insane AFLW semi final. Hawthorn led most of the way, dominated but were so wasteful. Then two behinds to Port cost Hawthorn the game. North vs Port prelim, North are unbeaten this season.

The feigned excitement from the usual port w***ers after their win tonight is cringe as F
I actually watched the last quarter. And you know what - that really WAS the old Port Adelaide in action. Come from nowhere to win. Never give up. Against the odds. It reminded me of Port in the SANFL and the constant success they achieved.

Funny thing is it’s completely different to Hinkleys AFL team. Lose BIG finals games at home, not just lose but get humiliated (Bullies prelim was over half way thru the first qtr, Cats drubbing this year was the largest ever home defeat in a final wasn’t it?). Lose finals when everyone (short odds favourite) expect them to win. Can’t handle the pressure etc. Under Hinkley the team is soft, scared and underperforming in finals.

Last night was a nice reminder that I am glad the men’s team hasn’t shown the same as what the girls team did last night.

You could say the same about our club too though.

Our men's team should be ashamed of the results we've delivered since 2017.

I do find the looking down at little brother down the road a bit odd. We basically ate 90% of him in the womb and yet he's been no worse than us. The only area where we're better is income earning, which is extremely low hanging fruit given we're a team representing nearly an entire state and they traditionally drew from a handful of suburbs. I think our new facility will be a step or two up from their's though. But otherwise, 1 extra flag aside, have we performed better throughout our journeys? Would be pretty close I'd have thought.

We've been rebuilding almost that whole time.

Sure, we should have done better in 2018, but we've been in rebuild since mid 2019.

This rebuild just gets pushed back further and further. Mid 2019 a couple of senior players found their way out of the 1st due to form or injury. But they returned to the team late in the year as we threw everything at making the 8, noting we could still make finals by beating the Dogs by 100 odd points in the final round. In this rebuilding side was the soon to be 'retired' Richard Douglas and one year pity contract Sam Jacobs. The rebuild was forced upon us due our performance in 2020, that's when they realised how bad they'd let it get.

This is what we actually did at end of 2019;
Offered cooked Sauce a 1 year deal
Offered CEY a cheap 2 year deal
Offered 2 year deals to Thor and Keath
Brought in mature, hardened bodies Frampton, Keays and Crocker
Traded camp malcontents JJ and Eddie
Forcibly delisted Douglas
Otto retired

These are not the actions of a list being deliberately rebuilt, we went into 2020 thinking we could contend similarly to previous 2 years with a renewed enthusiasm and a solid group of senior players. Below are 16 walk up start experienced players and 12 players coming through that had tasted varying amounts of AFL footy. That we went into 2020 rebuilding has become an urban legend, it just didn't happen.

Crouch
Crouch
Sloane
Gibbs
Tex
Laird
Talia
Hartigan
Brown
Lynch
Mackay
Milera
Seedsman
Atkins
Doedee
Smith
Then lesser lights who'd already played games like Fog 14, Frampton 3, Jones 8, Gooch 27, Knight 54, Murphy 32, Stengle 4, Crocker 26, Keays 30, ROB 20, Berg 8, Poholke 11.

The rebuild didn't start until after the 17th placed North Melbourne crushed us by 10 goals in 2020, when we had Gibbs, Atkins, Knight, etc in the side.

I think you'll find the call was made after 2018 season showed this list wasn't able to resurrected .....you have to factor in existing Contracts, which impacts how quickly we can exit players

In 2016/17 we would have been contracting players for an extended run of success

That game felt like the time when Matthew Nicks asked the question "did I really get myself into a full rebuild?"

And the answer was a resounding yes

So your answer is.... no you're right it didn't start til 2020

Depends on which camp you're arguing from .....the "we're 6 years into a rebuild" ....or the "we're 4 years into a rebuild"

Seriously yes we have been over all this THOUSANDS of times and I don’t disagree

But I am posting in the NON CROWS thread about Powers AFLW team relative to their historical SANFL team and was hoping for at least a few non responses about how the crows have also been crap (crappier)

I just realised we're looking at a potential Showdown GF in the AFLW...

And according to the AFL website, it would be at Norwood Oval. That might be a bad idea. AO not available?

I doubt Power will get over North Melbourne.

But if they do tho it would be the biggest choke by North Melbourne we have seen in the competition.

I guess. What is Norwood's capacity?

Edit: 15,000. Wouldn't be enough, sadly.

Don't have much choice. The pitch is already in. Redbacks have a game 23-26th, AFLW GF is weekend 30th/1st, and the Australia India game starts the 6th. It's not feasible.
