I think they wanted an easy soft rebuild. No hard calls, move on a few old players and depth, back in the senior guys on the list, a few high draft picks and some new experience. New coach, camp behind them, back to finals quickly.

I do not believe for one second the club expected to come anywhere near last. Especially with the amount of experience still on the list
Yeah, that's fair enough. I think they underestimated what was about to happen.

there’s numerous posts of you claiming it was later than that.
I think we knew we weren't premiership contenders anymore by mid 2019.

We knew players who we had relied on - Betts, Jacobs, Greenwood, Douglas, etc - weren't going to get it done. We started to pivot away from them, and cut them at the end of the year.

A rebuild doesn't start with the delisting.

I believe the most evidence points to us rebuilding from the end of 2020.
I could be wrong but I don’t remember the rebuild word when nicks was announced.
It was only when he crashed and burned in 2020, the sides he was picking didn’t suggest rebuild at all.

Why are you continuing to sprout this lie we delisted these players?

Greenwood, Keath and Jacobs we offered contracts. With Greenwood and Keath we just didn’t want to give them as long a contract. Jacobs we offered one year.

Betts we would have retained but he wanted to leave us due to the camp and how we handled the fallout and his wife wanted to go back to Melbourne.

Douglas was finished and he retired.

You’re also ignoring Roos comments that we expected to be a lot better than we were with the remaining experienced players we had. We finished bottom and they went full rebuild mode as a result.

As he has me on ignore, show Mostyn this. Chapman uses the word rejuvenation not rebuild. We only went rebuild when we finished bottom.

Yep, as I think Scorpus said, they thought they could just do a mini refresh/rejuvenate and go again.

A true non-Crows AFL post ... The Tassie Devils have switched the location of the High Performance Training Centre to Kingston :)

Big deal down here as it was planned to be at Rosny (not as good a location) but they got outbid.

Suits me fine, just around the corner from home!!

What is the feeling around the Tassie team?

Seemed a genuine shit fight for a while, people still excited? Do you jump live to them if you live there?

I reckon wayne needs about another 20 years for North to want to have him front and centre, its not like he has covered himself in glory over the last decade ( i didn't mind his commentary).

Not sure what happened with the other two though.
Simplest solution is to wind up North when Tassie come in. ;)

Why? This is in their grand tradition, where they sell themselves to various states making comforting promises, then piss off and do the same elsewhere for a while. It's an endless process while they still exist.
you'd hope this time when the talk of the 3rd Perth team arise, North stay there for good

The shit fight was overblown - if you mean North vs South thing.

So many people in Hobart are outsiders like me, we have no skin in the “Launceston is weak” stuff.

I also think that the whole island will take the “us vs. mainland” approach that the Jack Jumpers have.

Lots of excitement still. Good to have it locked down, will go off like a fire cracker when it hits the ground. So entertainment starved down here that we will literally even follow basketball if it gives us something to do!!
