Well Chapman got one too... for services to making the Crows mediocre.

And for earning big $ in the banking sector. ā€œService toā€ used to mean things you did for others outside of your paid job. Getting an OA for being on an AFL club board for a decade has to be the lowest of bars.

He's been on multiple other boards. Did they say what he received it for?

What I read was service to football and the financial services sector. With his other board roles, you never know with board roles which are paid though. Even the AFC board includes in kind value like travel and tickets/function expenses. Thereā€™s zero chance he paid to get to, stay and attend the 2017 GF. He probably went every year on the clubā€™s dime.

And Iā€™m not saying itā€™s bad or wrong, itā€™s just how it is.

Yeah that's ridiculous. He should get community service, not a damn medal.

Geelong and Chris Scott must think there's still an important role in today's AFL for an iside bull....what would they know hey?

Yeah but Rowell is good.

Didn't see them coming for Crouch either time, he would have cost them nothing but they will go for Rowell and cough up a first and some...

Matt Rowell was the number one pick in the 2019 draft. Has anyone ever suggested that there isn't a role for him in today's AFL? I'm not sure who you're directing that comment at.

Anyone thatā€™s had a crack at Crouch

Matt's been a great servant of the club, and very good at his best.

But I've never seen him do the things Rowell can do
His last few games in 2023 were pretty good, he hit the scoreboard from memory as well.
If he could continue that form he has a place in the side very week.

There is a role for an inside bull, I donā€™t think anyone has ever posted differently. The type of player that gets the ball and can power through the contest like Danger, Wines, Oliver, Petracca etc are highly valuable.
