Nah, he is just a bad umpire.
Port are good at milking frees and he gets sucked in.
In the modern game milking frees is a skill. I don't like it, but with the poor quality of umpires across the league why not exploit it.

Heading towards the perfect result for the AFL, they want/need Port to make a Grand Final, they don’t want them to win it if they come up against a Vic club but they need them in it. They can’t have an AFL welfare club not make a Grand Final in 15 years, it bursts the AFL’s equalisation method facade bubble and they just can’t have any of their methodologies questioned or challenged.
