Just let that sink in.... A team of Kelly, Gaff, Yeo, Sheed, Barass, Darling, Petrucelle, Hunt, Allen, SPS, Shuey, Witherden, Duggan.... 13 players with proper AFL experience getting smashed by 170+ points....

Simmo has to go cmon....

Tell you what this West Coast team will serve as a real cautionary tale for all non-Victorian teams for years to come.

They did the the ridiculously near-on impossible task few have ever done in 2018 - beat an MCG tenant on Grand Final day, only the great Brisbane Lions team and Sydney in 2012 had managed to do that since the VFL expanded out of Victoria but now have showed that while it might have been fast-tracked by the COVID misfortune but showed what happens if you get greedy, forget to evolve your gameplan, mismanage/misjudge a list build and overstretch your footballing department with a couple of poor appointments and stale past it personnel without having the safety net the AFL competition provides and has provided to Victorian teams for 17 years after they held their Victorian club crisis meeting after the non-Vic GFs of the mid-2000s, if you enter the black hole West Coast have as a non-Victorian club in this modern Australian football world you will just collapse as an entire functioning sporting club/entity for years.

The Crows weak-ish late 2019 led semi-regime change only just and I mean only just rescued them from hitting the entire depths West Coast are experiencing now, hard to imagine 2020 and 2021 being worse but they could’ve been if the club did a few of the same things West Coast’s administration has done. Still though a lot of football clubs fans including ours would comfortably take their current predicament in exchange for a recent flag in the past decade.

I’m a staunch Atheist but do believe Adam Simpson made a deal with the Devil prior to that 2018 flag and do wish Don Pyke would’ve made the same deal prior to 2017s GF.

If someone said you get a guaranteed Crows flag but then a guaranteed wooden spoon five years later as one of the worst sides of the modern era, I'd take it. We got the spoon, no flag.
We have done the spoon so now for the flag.

You must be dreading game day

I had another commitment today which meant I didn’t see a second of the game… Was still following it with a mix of total shock, horror and then numbness. I mean we were playing 15th…Away yes, but after a bye and with a few more players “back”.

Words fail me. The coach will walk and get a very nice payout for it and and we look to move forward. Just hope Norf win at least one more game, so we can keep our spot safe and guard against any “new coach bounce” (as insane as that idea is 😂).

New coach bounce = 100pt loss 😆

I hope the pain we've had for the last five years ends up being worth it. I suspect it will.

Whats become clear I think is we've laid a foundation for success by building a young and exciting squad that has definite potential. What the club now needs to do is to find players who will take us to the next level in trade week. No point drafting more young players unless they are walk in best 22 potential. Better to spend most of our draft picks now on established AFL talent in trade week and free agency.

Just put some tri colours on your avatar for a couple of years

Not a bad club??..

really?.. you make it sound like they aren't anything special.

they are a fxxking unbelievable club. Have a look at their record.

6 GF appearances for 4 flags in 37 years

27 out of those 37 years they’ve finished in the top eight and played finals football

Not bad for a non victorian based club..

Wish our clubs record was that good. Wish we’d won a flag in the last 5 years.
You are right.

WCE and Hawthorn the best two AFL era clubs.

But they are a few years away from being good again. Which I think is daunting for a highly talented kid and the pressure on them to turn things around.

Personally think sending the best talent to the worst clubs is not in the draftees interests.

Yeah, it would be shit being a WC supporter at the moment. But you follow an unbelievable club who’s never down for long..

and you’ve tasted the sheer delight of a premiership flag in very recent times.

I would rather that than what us crows supporters have dealt with in the last 5 years for no flag!.

your club will be back soon enough.
