Pretty clear example of supply and demand. Unless the airline is putting on extra flights, you now have more people wanting to go with no additional supply. Demand has increased. Of course prices are going to increase.

People didn’t want to buy the tickets for cheap when there was no event on, but now there’s a reason to be there, people expect the airline to offer at the same cheap prices?

If I was a Port supporters when Brisbane were wining halfway thru the game last Saturday I would have punted buying tickets for Saturday returning Sunday. The game was always going to be a Saturday. You have to be half smart with these things.

And what is the worst thing that can happen, Brisbane lose, you cancel the flight and get a flight credit which you can use if necessary next season.

Oh forgot, you need to have money to do that.

You know the AFL don't care about fairness right? That wouldn't be the reason.
They want the Vic games on marquee TV timeslots. TV ratings are the goal here. It's not a sports competition but a game show.
