This is about where I ended up - I'm not going to protest in the streets as I think it's in a grey area, but I think a suspension would have been valid.

I do think it deserved to go to the tribunal and go through a genuine process.

I agree it needed to go to the tribunal and go through the full process.

AFL have done a pretty good job protecting players head, the sling tackle is dead, high bumps are dead.

Unfortunately you won't ever get rid of all concussions, players moving at full speed 360 degrees on an oval - collisions will occur.

The AFL will always allow pack marks/speccies/running back with the flight and launching at the ball to mark.

When bad things happen there doesn't always need to be a villain to be outraged against.

O.M.G. You have got to be kidding.
I hope Brayshaw sues these pricks for 10's of millions in coming years.
Well if he tries to.. I hope he doesnt use this collision with Maynard as evidence..

its just an incident in normal play..

now if Maynard had’ve not gone the smother at all and instead launched a deliberate hip and shoulder into Brayshaws head or if Maynard tackled him instead and slung him around and drove him head first into the turf... and the league let him off..

then Brayshaw might have a case..

at some point Brayshaw has to accept that unfortunately incidents like this.. a totally innocent incident in normal play.. are going to occur and he has chosen to involve himself in a contact sport.

The only assistance they should get is an increase to the soft cap to get an extra development coach, their list is full of high first round talent they just need to develop it, no use just handing the star young kids if they aren't developed properly.

They didn't even finish on the bottom of the ladder. They are in this position because their club cut back their list a ridiculously amount, we were in the same position as them in 2020 and we have managed to improve every year.

💯 this is a better option, get them extra development coaches and even extra fitness/rehab guys to support the players they already have.

Penalising everyone else for their gross mismanagement of their list sucks!! 🤬

This is a really interesting proposal.

I read an article that suggested Clarkson's massive pay is restricting their ability to target/create the group they'd like/need to assemble around him, including development coaches.

Apparently Clarkson has already taken a small cut

A well put together response. It’s just a game of footy at the end of the day. I wonder how loud the noise is going to be in the next 20 years. I’m not referring to players suing the AFL, but rather the silent battles from concussions will no longer be silent. It’s going to be interesting watching this unravel. I have no issue with the result. The difference between a negligent act and an accidental act is massive! I’m glad they are not putting them all in the same box.

The AFL is screwed.. they are going to find themselves on the end of shiteloads of litigation over concussions..

mostly because for the decades up until the last 3 or 4 years they did sweet FA to deal with it..

at least in the last 3 to 4 years they’ve started to do something.. but thats not really gonna stop whats already in the pipeline and coming their way.

What annoys me is that attack on the ball David Mackay did a few years ago and the campaigning from some Victorians that he should be suspended.

Are they paying the full amount allowed under the soft cap as is? I was under the impression part of the reason they aren't in massive debt is because they don't spend as much as other clubs
