This isn’t a good start for the footy boss, overruling her MRO guy who ended up being right.
Would have loved to have seen the look on her face the exact moment the ruling was handed down..

instant slapdown and realisation that this job isnt gonna be as easy and cozy as it seemed it would be!..

gonna be hard to soar like an eagle given she’s joined a dysfunctional organisation full of turkeys..

The only reason Bradshaw got concussed is because Maynard chose to change his posture to bump. End of

The most ridiculous outcome ever
You you’re just going to ignore brayshaw falling over to the side infront of him?

Yep

Chose to bump
Hit head
3 games any other time
Actually he chose to smother
Braced for contact as brayshaw fell over infront of him.
Football incident
No games.

Played out exactly as it should have.

No way will the AFL appeal this.

Might suggest they’re thinking about it, but nothing further will
happen.

There are egos at play here.

Kane, Dillon and Gil may pull the trigger on an appeal just to try and save some face.

And to keep this story ticking over in the media for a few more days.

My first instinct watching that collision was that it should be a downfield free kick.

It never even occurred to me that it should result in a suspension.

Accuse me of being stuck in the 90s if you want… it just seems obvious to me that collision could‘ve happened 1000 times and 999 times it would not have resulted in someone being knocked out.

Imagine having the AFL wanting your side to win as much as they do Collingwood this year, or Melbourne, Richmond and the Bulldogs in the past 7 years.

Nah, Carlton are the VFL good news story this year. Collingwood are just the backup plan.

Maynard getting off sums of the AFL. Enough wiggle room to get players from certain clubs off when they want to.

People just want consistency, and there is significant precedent of the head being sacrosanct this entire season. It’s been the messaging from AFL House all year and the suspensions have been consistent with that. Rightly so too, given the seriousness of concussion and the corresponding **** storm that will descend on the AFL if they don’t treat the situation appropriately (it may already be too late).

Collingwood would’ve won the flag anyway this year, and rightly so - They’ve been the best team all season. I’ll applaud them for it, and will continue to enjoy watching their exciting brand of footy for their last two matches.

But Maynard shouldn’t be playing. That he will be free to play is such an incredibly poor reflection on how seriously the AFL actually takes brain injuries and their long term effects when push comes to shove. It’s also an indictment on the sway big Victorian clubs like Collingwood and the influence the media have on AFL procedure.

This isn’t a witch hunt. People just want consistency, and to not have exceptions made for the same clubs. Despite concussion being the biggest story of the 2023 season and the corresponding hard line taken by the league, we all saw this result coming - Which is pretty shameful when you think about it

They won’t get past Melbourne.

Collingwood are certainly the best side, and a GF with them and Carlton is probably the AFL’s wet dream but it would take a miracle and in any case the Pies are too good.
