Reading the article Sheehan gives the impression the AFL media parrot --->
Former AFL chief executive officer Andrew Demetriou, who read the votes the night Watson won, told me this week: “It’s one of the great tragedies of Australian sport that Jobe Watson lost his Brownlow Medal.
“It would have been interesting to see what might have happened if certain people had fought a bit harder to support him.”
My guess is Demetriou’s “certain people” were the AFL administration of the day (He moved on after the 2014 season).

But the players knew and went along with it.
They are drug cheats. They were delivered their punishment.

I'd say Essendon should relinquish the player they selected with the #1 pick they never deserved, but given they wasted it on that spud McGrath, they can keep him. I'd like to think that's a bit of poetic justice as well.

Reckon Pies will struggle to go back to back, been up for 2 years, 3 years with a few key players with interrupted preseasons.
Reckon it’s Lions year 2024 with a decent injury run. They would have got a lot of belief out of this years finals series.

Somehow if it was one of ours instead of a vic player, mike shehan ain't writing that article.
Also, if rewriting supposed wrongs if an AFL thing, how about they reinstate dean bailey with backpay and soft cap back pay to us when they rubbed him out for melbourne's indiscretion that melbourne as a club actually got away with virtually scott free... (too late for dean sadly)
