Even though I think Tredrea is only doing it to help himself I do like that they have some ex players pushing for a spot. He will get in easily. Abba doesn't have the support.

I'd like to see that with us. We have plenty of former players put up their hand for employment when they need a job but not for the board.

Much closer than I thought

Tredrea 50.9%
Abernethy 49.1%

Rucci has a membership.

It's an official meeting of the club, not an open information session.
Its both

The club normally streams it

It has speeches about financials, future plans, q&a

The club always has a news item about what went on following

You're acting like its some highly confidential meeting that it is of the utmost importance to keep non-members out

I've been and never had to prove my membership

Surely it wasn't that close? Can't see how Koch couldn't have found the handful of votes to get Abernethy over the line.

Obviously not his first choice but some advantages now for Kochie bringing Tredders inside the tent. One thing is he can't be anywhere near as critical as he has been.
Given Tredders stance on vaccination and following through with action it will be interesting to see how Koch can muzzle him.

Of course Tredders could also be like Roo, outside Footy success comes via nepotism and his Board role did more harm than good as he is not very intelligent.

Tredders has an Anti Ken mandate, voted by his membership. Time to follow through.

There are zero advantages for Koch. If there were, he wouldn’t have ran Bruce Abernethy against him.

And by losing he's effectively received what could be perceived as a 'no confidence' result from the members.

What Tredders really needs to do, from a long-game perspective, is put forward a motion that all board members and the president/chairman are member-elected.

Same at the Crows.

There's a clause in the constitutions of both clubs about that.

7.2 Cessation of AFL Membership (a) The AFL will cease to be a Member on the Development Grant Completion Date. (b) From the Development Grant Completion Date, the Board may grant all of the rights held by the AFL to any other class of Member that is in existence on the Development Grant Completion Date or is otherwise established by the Board. (c) If the Board does not grant the rights of the AFL Voting Member to another class or classes, the Board will grant all of the rights held by the AFL to the Electing Members.

Development Grant Completion Date means 31 October 2028 (or such earlier time as the AFC and the AFL agree);

If there is one meaningful thing that we can do as members of this club right now it would be to organise and place pressure upon the board members to ensure that they (and the AFL, who must agree to it) do not create 'any other class of member' or bestow the rights on anyone other than the electing members. This is the very most critical thing for the future of our club.

I bet my left nut that when (if) the club is ever converted into a Membership based club us rank and file members will have no additional rights.

Can we get that annoying campaigner who complained about Thebarton to bully the club's board into conceding as well?

I'm fairly certain only ours has that. Port's doesn't.

It's the default position that it does, and requires AFL agreement to be varied it seems.

We need to make sure that the AFL understands its bad for the brand and business to do anything other than turn it over to us.

Will be interesting to see what he does with CCornes.
Was only given an assistant coaching position as a favour to Kornes by Cardone, for Kornes backing Hinkley publicly.
