Killing with a smile
Gutsy by Petty.
(I don't want us to sell the farm for him though)

Is he even worth a spot on your list. I would rather an untried 18 year old.Forget about him until he is free agent.
There are some decent FA available next year who are more of a need.
Wait & see.Is he even worth a spot on your list. I would rather an untried 18 year old.
Petty is a very average.
Personally prefer 16 teams. So glad the AFL are pushing ahead to dilute the talent pool even further.
What a shitshow most games are.
How about reduce the ELITE NATIONAL competition to 12 teams and watch the skill level increase.
Puts our Dees loss in perspective & how our coach apparently claimed we were back on track. This game is as bad as any Adelaide match I've seen this year
He's had an awful start to the seasonPetty doing the right thing and personally tanking hard
He's been Billy Frampton level bad as a forwardHe's had an awful start to the season
I like him but geez if this is what he's going to dish up with workload scaled back after his foot injury would you bother?
Being played out of position and heart not in it, he’s not the first player to look horrible after a failed trade request. He's had an awful start to the season

Played the best 6 possession game in AFL history.Wait & see.
Don't judge him on the now as he is getting over a severe injury.
Another reason why best waiting a bit before deciding to whether go hard for him.
Cummings & Hayward are FA next year & more of a need.
The problem is though that we don't need a key defenderBeing played out of position and heart not in it, he’s not the first player to look horrible after a failed trade request.
Looks more mental than physical, reminds me a lot of how Jesse Hogan looked in his later days at Freo when the player is just going through the motions and hearts not really in it at the club it makes it very hard to judge as a player. Change of environment will hopefully sort out his issues.
Not now we’ve spent a top pick on one.The problem is though that we don't need a key defender
He’s a defender though, no more of thoseWait & see.

It's the one area of the ground that we have some young talent performing well plus some depth cover.
So Petty would have to play forward. I actually think we need a forward of his type - a clunker who can be the Long option down the line.
Thilthorpe is better using his tank and roaming far and wide and Fog is better on the lead.
Need a bailout option between the arcs and also in the F50 and certainly ROB is currently useless in this regard.
However Petty hasn't looked a forward's a-hole this season. Whether that's just due to a long term injury and interrupted preseason...? Would be quite a risk trading this year.
While I definitely think Petty’s a defender he still can be handy enough if needed up forward for stints just not as the main/deepest tall option which Melbourne has ended up playing him as this year, he’s better served as more of a lead up and back forward or as the 2nd/3rd banana it’s just that van Rooyen prefers to roam around with no responsibility and has minimal leading pattern knowledge (like he’s playing for the Crows) which meant Petty has been stuck as a deep option which has caused him big issues. He’s a defender though, no more of those
If only we had 45He’s a defender though, no more of those
But where would the Crows play him? He’s a defender though, no more of those
Matthew NicksWho was bagging SANFL football the other day?
