I reckon if it came to a bidding war for Kelly, if we waved Gaff under Geelong's nose then they'd take that rather than Pick 4.

Would be a backwards move for Freo if they effectively swapped them. Surely they’d have to draft a key forward with #4.

A bit like the Weller trade last year, Brisbane will be happy securing a player that wants to move to Queensland so pick 4 is definitely on the table. Freo have an AA calibre player will a year still left on his contract so have every right to demand a high price before agreeing to a trade

Neale asking to go to Brisbane isn't a great vote of confidence in freos rebuild though

Best case scenario they could get the King twins with picks 4 and 5 (I suppose they'd become 5 and 6 after the Lynch compo). That'd give them a couple of pillars at each end to build around, and having both twins on the same list would mitigate against one of them getting homesick and wanting out.

Yeah sometimes people seem to forget Tim Kelly isn't some 19 year old WAFL gun we overlooked. He's a mature age talent - of course he was going to have an immediate impact. Those players don't go in the first round though because the club won't get as many years out of them.

Agreed. Fremantle can talk it up as much as they like about rebuilding etc but when you look at both clubs and draw a comparison, Brisbane is way ahead of them in a rebuild and in talent.
