This stuff is so important to really get to the bottom of. It's the sort of thing that particularly in today's "world" drives parents and kids away from the game.
There should be an in depth investigation into the entire Secret Harbour Dockers club/culture and hierarchy IMHO.
I say that knowing the reputation the club has and the apparent knowledge of some it was potentially going to happen.

Having nephews involved down that way and you are spot on.

Also as far as I'm aware, the umps are refusing to be involved in any future games involving that club given they (kids themselves) needed to be escorted off the ground

Robbo on 360 "Melbourne were besieged by bad luck this year".
Pretty sure Tom McDonald was their only significant injury

I'm just about done with this sport. Geelong already getting players asking to go there. It's one sided and seriously AFL is turning into EPL every year. Ladder is now dictated with the same sides that are gifted players every season. I won't watch if Geelong make the Granny. F**k them. They achieved nothing.

I hate it how players announce which club they want to go to. Tanner Bruhn asking to move to Geelong already. That's the first of a few that will ask. Always get 3-4 players every season now asking to go to Geelong. Players should only be allowed to ask for what state and anyone should be able to trade for him from that state. Equalisation is so far off right now it's ruining this game. Also GWS and GC major issues retaining players every year. Those clubs are a Victoria Academy for pretty much Geelong and Richmond, Collingwood now.

Don't expect these sides to drop over the next 10 years. They won't because of this. Seriously clubs constantly down the bottom need to question this to the AFL. Geelong will never go through a rebuild ever. They don't have too.
I have said it for years, concessions that let the club that originally drafted a player pay the more. I.e. 25% of yearly salary not included in the cap.

Make the players walk away from something of value.

Clubs have zero leverage when trying to retain.

Also while in contract you can be traded anywhere. But free agency can be when ever your contract ends.

The nba has similar with their bird rights.

The AFLPA is probably made up of players who did the same thing (nominated Victorian clubs to move to) so they’ll hardly be sympathetic to the AFL wanting to introduce that

* I hate Gerard whately

Don't know why I listen to the campaigner

It's like sitting in peak hour traffic

Used to be alright when he was at the ABC but has become insufferable since he got his own show on SEN. VFL mouthpiece that makes robbo seem like the fair and balanced one nowadays.

Also has a clear blind spot love for Geelong which makes him even harder to listen to.

Berry free to play. Another victory for the players' code against Clayton Oliver.

Sanity prevails but Gary Lyon will be sheďding tears tonight.

Hoping for Berry after the siren winner vs the Cats

Yep after the Dees got knocked out hanging Berry was all he had left.

I find the idea of him weeping himself to sleep in the foetal position tonight mildy arousing. And I feel like after the most recent episode of House of Dragons that's not that bad.

The above is actually a good idea I had not seen pitched before and would love to see this investigated as to the potential costs, etc.

This one is going to be harder to get around with Australia's strong labour laws and the fact our sportsmen earn far less than their American counterparts.

I'm not necessarily against it - I just don't ever see it ever getting off the ground.
