So I wasn't there but a couple of parents have contacted me about a major junior footy incident taking place yesterday in WA.
The Peel district year 11 and 12 Grand final took place between the Dockers aligned Secret Harbour Dockers and Halls Head.
There were rumours pre-game apparently of pre-planned hits to be delivered by the Dockers aligned juniors on Halls Head players.
Only minutes before final siren with result basically done and the Secret Harbour Dockers being down by 14 points.
An 18 year old year 12 ( I wont name him) is caught on video running up and king hitting Halls Heads player and knocking him out cold.
Everyone is a little stunned and initially don't know how to react before eventually all hell breaks loose. We're talking multiple teeth knockout.another player knocked out and parents threatening to kill the 18 year old starter who had to be locked away in the change-rooms.
He was apparently arrested last night.
Might be on the news tonight.

I was there two players were king hit and knocked out cold. Both still currently in Hospital.

One of the worst on Field things I have ever seen. 2mins left in the game, there is a number of videos circulating.

This stuff is so important to really get to the bottom of. It's the sort of thing that particularly in today's "world" drives parents and kids away from the game.
There should be an in depth investigation into the entire Secret Harbour Dockers club/culture and hierarchy IMHO.
I say that knowing the reputation the club has and the apparent knowledge of some it was potentially going to happen.

Premeditated king hits behind play should be dealt with by the courts, and if the kid that dished it out is 18 he’ll be tried as an adult.

The length of his playing ban should be the least of his worries.

If they were that age and it was premeditated they are looking at more than just a ban from playing football.

If the league and clubs dont go hard at these thugs then I hope the parents lay charges. Police already involved from the sound of it and plenty of video footage.
 
I'm just about done with this sport. Geelong already getting players asking to go there. It's one sided and seriously AFL is turning into EPL every year. Ladder is now dictated with the same sides that are gifted players every season. I won't watch if Geelong make the Granny. F**k them. They achieved nothing.

I hate it how players announce which club they want to go to. Tanner Bruhn asking to move to Geelong already. That's the first of a few that will ask. Always get 3-4 players every season now asking to go to Geelong. Players should only be allowed to ask for what state and anyone should be able to trade for him from that state. Equalisation is so far off right now it's ruining this game. Also GWS and GC major issues retaining players every year. Those clubs are a Victoria Academy for pretty much Geelong and Richmond, Collingwood now.

Don't expect these sides to drop over the next 10 years. They won't because of this. Seriously clubs constantly down the bottom need to question this to the AFL. Geelong will never go through a rebuild ever. They don't have too.

Years ago - 1980's a player in one of the country leagues king hit someone ( though he said it was in a contest ) (the crowd knew different) That person died. I have no idea of the suspension and not sure if he was charged, but he definitely didn't serve any time.Was disgusting and that player never learn't a lesson, continued being a dirty player for the rest of his career. This incident needs to be pulled up with severe penalties.

I played in a U16s game (Balga vs Morley) that had an all-in brawl a number of years ago. Dozens of players and parents involved.

The parents had life bans from watching games and the kids had year bans from playing.

It was rough and something I remember clearly.

We need to come down hard on anyone involved in that incident yesterday. Should be a matter for the courts as Miguel stated above, and has no place in our society.

Guess Dockers players have no qualms about beating teenagers either.

move back and leave it to the cops - it is beyond footy except for the mandatory life bans
