I still remember the angst when we traded our pick 18 for Sharrod Wellingham, and the Pies used that pick for Brodie Grundy.

Obviously unwanted by the Pies now, but back then he was on course to be the best ruckman in the game. Quite a fall from grace after his contract extension. In retrospect their 18-19-20 of Grundy, Ben Kennedy and Tim Broomhead was fairly middling.

Pies making a mistake IMO and its amazing how quick they jump off reading there board

27 for grundy is a steal...dees making off like bandits

Being able to get Grundy in for cheap was likely a factor in Melbourne accepting unders for Jackson

They’re a better side for the next 3 years with Grundy instead of Jackson and they get two low-mid teens draft picks for their troubles

I'm not sure how Grundy and Gawn co-exist though, neither are reliable goal kickers.

We made Cox / Naitanui work in 2012 by resting one up forward, and both contributed 20+ goals for the season. It's a rare occurrence of it working.

Grundy for 27 and Collingwood paying some salary is a heck of a deal for Melbourne. Those two are going to compliment each other perfectly. Will be very hard to stop a midfield of Gawn, Grundy, Petracca and Oliver

"Yeah absolutely, we'd love Ollie to stay...there is a pull down the highway we understand that, but it's only 40 or 50 minutes up the road." - Graham Wright on Ollie Henry staying if a trade isn't reached

Heard he mentioned being home sick lol

I watched Gawn go forward in the 2021 prelim and tore the cats a new one

And there’s absolutely no let up in the ruck feeding that midfield of theirs

Gawn is also very good at dropping back to fill in a hole

Not a common thing for him though, he's terrible as a set shot in front of goal

Sex life/ etc

Collingwood pushing for Henry and 16 for 7 which is more than fair

Certainly fairer than the 25 Geelong are offering

Do we really want him though? He isnt the same player pre injury and he is on good coin.

Yes, I'd only want him for the right price, make no mistake. Not going to be sending a pick 20 for example to Hawthorn.

But as a BBIMWBLF to protect our youngsters in midfield, may as well make a polite enquiry.
