From the St Kilda board, about an hour before the announcement...

I know he recently re-signed, but with the review completed, Walsh appointment and trade period now finished, I wouldn’t be surprised if Ratten is sacked in the next week.

Watch this space…

Nostradamus lives and he supports St Kilda.

They just gave Zaine Cordy a three year deal but Ratten can't see out his contract?

The Purples are tempting fate by having traded out BOTH Lobb & Meek.

Other than Darcy and Jackson they don’t have much ( if any ) ruck depth should, one of the fore mentioned go down.

They have doubled down on midfield strength with OMeara, however with the departure of Lobb, Meek and Logue the talls on the list have take a hit .

Acres and Mundy got a lot of the ball last season, will be interesting to see who pick those roles up.

I am surprised by what the purples did,
I think they may regress a tad in 2023, Amiss is going to have big shoes to fill and it’s hard to see Son Son having the same year he had in 22.

So who’s going to kick the goals that will be needed to get enough winning scores ?
Most of their best 22 predicted sides have the always injured tabiner at FF and Amiss at CHF .

Its almost like they don't care about tall forwards at all .

They bring in an undersized Corbett as a lobb replacement?

Although they have probably strengthened the the midfield rucks with O'meara and Jackson they have way less fire power up forward

We’ve just had the worst season in our history and one of the worst of any club in recent times

And we still can’t make it onto a poll of the four worst clubs currently

Brisbane have done alright. Gunston and Dunkley. It's whether the old blokes like Robinson, Rich & Zorko can keep their form up.
Our club insider reckons that if Rich can't get through the preseason without injury, he will retire before the start of the season.

Being a regular at preseason training, Rich as been on a modified program the last three preseasons, as he's always had some type of foot/ankle/lower leg issue.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if Rich and Zorko are out of our best 22 by the end of the season.

Here's today's social media post by the club. Gives you an insight in to what the club is thinking.

just realised what Brisbane paid for Dunkley. It’s not that far off what we paid for Kelly really.

What did we pay?

Wasn’t it 21, a future first rounder, a future second rounder and a swap of thirds or something?

Kelly - 14,24,33, F1 + some swapping about with later picks

Dunkley - 21,F1,F2 + some swapping about with later picks

If you knock out the pick 14 we gave up the rest is broadly equivalent, meaning we paid an extra late first round pick. It was a fair bit more than Brisbane traded for Dunkley
