This.

Has better work-rate and ability to read play than 95% of the competition, not just fellow second-year players.

Finds space where others do not.

Combine that with elite skills and decision-making and you have a generational player in the making.
what are the chances this Harley Reid guy can take that step?

Vibes of a flop in my mind. Hawks can have him.

Happy to split picks lol

Feel like you need to sit someone in him. Would probably go a long way to beating the Pies.

Easier said than done. In interviews pre-draft he admitted that he expects to be tagged and was already working on his ability to beat them.

Completely agree with the premise however - letting him roam effectively unattended just allows far too much damage.

Not too many specialist taggers around now. Would be interesting to see how he would fare against 2018 Hutchings or Kirk or Ling at their peaks.

He certainly did.

Never thought I would see another player go close to doing that.

If N.Daicos keeps his trajectory, that will probably change.
Judd's Brownlow.

So a good friend of mine (Cockburn supporter) at the time commented that I must be beaming with pride with Judd's Brownlow.

And I responded with: kind of but a bit flat.

He looks at me sideways with disbelief and asks me to explain.

I thought his 2nd year was vastly superior to his 3rd, regardless of stat's. And kind of like an AA guernsey, you have to be superior in one year to get noticed and then you come into strong consideration the following year.

I know it's not going to be a popular opinion but, I thought his 2nd year was vastly superior. Don't get me wrong, still deserved his Brownlow in the year he won it.

Yep. His brother is pretty damn good too.

So Collingwood have an All-Australian mid/half back flanker, his brother who was in the 40-man All Australian team last year, and a key defender who previously was All Australian, all acquired as teenagers for well under market value because their dads played for Collingwood.

Dog shit rule that should be eliminated.

Judd was good in 04 but didn't think that was his best year.

Got only 20 votes I think plus don't think he was fav.

Was definitely a media love child but Daicos is a million times more due to Coll player

Doesn't hurt that his dad was pretty good as well

Nah disagree, I think it's something unique to our sport, I like it.

Interesting to see who gets the rising star nomination this week. Good chance Van Rooyen gets it but his game was so poor for 3 quarters that he was moments away from being subbed out. Then he helped turned the game with a few minutes of brilliance
