He's supposedly attracted to the bright lights and glamour of Victoria and wants to move there to be with his mates, a lot of rumours going around the Colin Young helped influence him because he's upset Longmuir dropped him as an agent.

The sooner we stop drafting Colin Young managed players the better, I really doubt it's the culture considering we removed all of the dickheads from the club.

Um isn’t Peter Bell is still there

Trevor Nisbett when Rioli requested a trade last year

“We could not have done any more to support Junior since his infraction in 2019,” CEO Trevor Nisbett said. “We facilitated his appeal and subsequent return to football, so this decision is bitterly disappointing."

“We will put that disappointment to one side now and work to arrange a suitable trade for a player who has high end talent, is a premiership player and is in the prime of his career, having played just 51 games of senior football.

“Junior has made his decision and while he has indicated Port is his preferred destination we will work to get the best outcome for our club.”

Peter Bell on the news Liam Henry has requested a trade

“It is disappointing that Liam Henry has opted to explore his options, especially considering we have been involved in his development since he was 15 and he has taken some significant steps forward this year,” Bell said.

“We made a significant investment in Liam, not just through our Next Generation Academy, matching Carlton’s bid under NGA concession rules in the 2019 Draft, and it was pleasing to see his potential come to fruition this year.

“We will have this investment and his talent as a winger front of mind when looking to facilitate a trade.”

Nisbett copped some criticism for his reaction to Rioli’s request so I wonder if Bell will get the same since his comments are very similar. I also think Rioli owed the Eagles more than Henry does Fremantle

Henry's been at the club since he was 15 as a part of the NGA, the club clearly saw him as a big part of our future, considering we bid on him in the top 10.

Depends how you perceive it really.

If what was portrayed in the Stan series Show Me The Money is accurate and Fremantle did act petulantly to make things as difficult as possible for C.Young in the Lobb to Bulldogs deal, then you can't expect a personality like Young to take it quietly - he'll want his revenge and some.

Making enemies with someone like Young is a very bad move for a WA-based club.

Freo made it as difficult as possible on Lobb over a period of years. I'm not one to back Young under almost any instance but 99% of people with his level of power (it is highly underestimated) are going to hold a very serious grudge.

You have to remember it's also a TV show, it's overdone to an extent for theatrics. The word around the club is they believe Young has been giving Henry ideas and influencing him to move to Victoria, as of yesterday our ITK sources were saying he was genuinely torn on a move, so I'd say Young influence is likely.

He's likely filled the kid's heads with things like
"Moving to Victoria will be the BEST thing for your career, think of the limelight!!"

Right so put any of the top 10 key forwards in the league on him one on one with decent delivery and see what happens. AA maybe, but FB, not a ******* chance.
Sure, but if you're looking for positional integrity, I'm not sure the annual AA side is the go.

I think the club have realised that Young is bad news, Longmuir dropped him this year as his agent for a reason. Johnson and a couple of others have got him as manager still so you'd imagine the club is in their ears about dropping him too so we can finally rid the club of Young ever tampering with our trades again.

Agreed. He [Wilkie] has had a great year - but he's 191cm and under 90kg - that's not even KPP-sized.

He would be better named at back pocket instead of T.Stewart (but the AA team always needs a Geelong player...)

D.Moore would have been a far better choice as full back, with J.Weitering or H.Andrews at CHB.

Edit: Keys beat me to it.

If that happens i'm telling you now it won't end well for Freo long term. I don't like Coling Young but as some on here would say he has BSD energy and will hold a grudge that will negatively effect the dockers for a long, long time.

From that point on I assume we'd just have a strict "No Colin Young clients" policy to keep him away.

Well, I mean how stupid do you have to be to shit in the backyard of someone who manages a portion of the talent you bring in to the club?
Basically handicapping yourselves for no reason. Sure Young might be difficult but every other club handles it just fine.

The dockers are going to do whatever they are going to do however i'm just going to give you an analogy in regards to this with someone else.

Imagine actively ****ing with Adrian Dodoro and then having to deal with him year after year after year after year. It will cost freo prospective draft picks and talent on a long term basis imo.

The problem is now going forward no matter how we handle things it seems he's just going to look to screw us over at every turn, so at that point it seems better to just cut the snake's head off while we can.

I get what you're saying, I think no matter how we go about it now though, Young is going to look to shaft us, so in the club's mind, it's probably easier to just cut him off all together.

Or, I dunno. maybe replace the fool who started a feud with a player manager?
Just a suggestion.

I mean I feel Bell is definitely a part of the problem with some of the way our club is run, I doubt it'll make the issue go away, definitely feel Longmuir making the choice to drop him didn't help things.

Young and his influence will outlast anyone that is currently making decisions at your club.

Best thing you can do, is get Bell, Longmuir and Young in the same room, swallow your pride, and bury the hatchet you have with him.

Otherwise he will corrosively white-ant your talent acquisition and associated chances of any on-field success through the foreseeable future.
