We didn't deserve to win the GF last year. Collingwood were clearly the better side.
Whilst I can agree with that for sure I felt going undefeated at home all year and falling by less than a kick in the big dance against a side you beat twice during H/A season was a bit unlucky. Either side was a deserving premier

Knew I shouldn't have changed my tip. Suckered in by Sydney's injuries.
Changed mine back to the swans a few mins before the bounce. Thank god for that, almost got sucked into picking Melbourne for the same reason

Not sold on either team after tonight.
Cant say I’m 100% sold on Sydney despite impressive win given injuries to the midfield. Same old story of Melbourne kicking themselves out of the game. Only thing I’m sold on is Melbourne kicking and lack of forwards who consistently kick goals will cost them some games against top sides this year

Sydney missing L.Parker, C.Mills, T.Adams and still have A.Sheldrick and Co.Warner trying to break into the side.

They're going to be a seriously tough contested side this year that will grind out the majority of opponents over four quarters.

Very well drilled - they look to deliver the tactics. And they have smart tactics. They seem to get a lot out of their players and bring desperation. The seem to have also recruited speed and running power over the last few years. Ric Charlsworth always said speed is critical in attack and to apply pressure in defence.

Not sure I am on the same page when media refers to Taylor Adams as someone Sydney were missing from their side. He’s never played for them before, so how could he be considered an out?

By that logic we can’t consider Matt Flynn as an out when in reality his absence is a major blow

It’s kind of true though, it just seems more stark in that example because we so desperately need a ruckman.

If you think of a hypothetical scenario where Collingwood’s entire premiership team is lining up for round one but Lachie Schultz is injured. Are commentators going to remark that it was a Collingwood side missing Lachie Schultz?

I dunno, just seemed a little grating

Team has traded in a player they expect will be a best 22 player. He was injured in the preseason and looks to miss the early part of the season.

If Grundy was injured during the warm up for the game and was a late out, he’d be missing for Sydney.

I so hope all of Sydney, GWS and Lions make the top 4 with GCS in the 8. And a Lions / Swans Grand Final. Imagine the Vic melts. We might finally get a change in the academies if that happens.

Please no..... VFL house will then do a review over the state of Vic footy and give each Vic side an end of 1st rd priority pick, with WC getting a start of 2nd rd priority pick after failing to win a game.
