One of the reasons why Toby Greene is one of the greatest players in the competition.

The guy is an absolute campaigner but time and again he drags his team across the line. They had no right to win that.

Daniels was the catalyst I thought. Really gave them the drive out of CBAs they’d been missing

OK- I'll dumb it down for you. The one every decade stat is garbage as it's giving the impression they win flags all the time. They don't and have had long flag droughts in the AFL era (1991-2008 and 2015-?)
2015 is a flag drought? By that metric the water table at West Coast is looking pretty low.

Him too, plus Hogan.

Hawthorn will be better for the experience losing games like this and Port. I'd back them for a flag tilt next year.

Hawthorn with one foot in the finals

Finish this game off and with games against North and Richmond to finish the season they’ll have 14 wins even if they lose to Carlton

Quite the turnaround from early in the year

This is what’s known in the cricket thread as being Dazzlered

Bleat all you want but they've won a flag every decade since the AFL began.
It's got FA to do with "impression", it's just a fact.

Technically they've gotten one every decade tho.

Just they got one in the tail end of that 80s dynasty in 1991.

Id take multiple flags every 20 years than 1 every 12

A decade refers to any ten year period and 17 years is what should be on average when every team wins a premiership.

In any case I don't see Hawthorn putting together a premiership squad to rival the success of the 80's or 2010's. Odds on they won't win a flag in the 2020's.
