Likely he's just getting his role streamlined.Looks like he ran out of feathers
LOL They created a new role just for him "the executive general manager of Football Talent, Strategy and Special Projects"
Sounds like a bunch of nonsense. Probably just didn't want to sack him so quietly moved him to a new role that does SFA all will eventually just move him out when he's had enough.
While Lycett has not publicly confirmed his intentions, the Power said the premiership ruckman “has indicated to the club he will retire”.
“He was an incredible workhorse for our club during the last five seasons and was totally focussed on putting his teammates first. As a former Port Adelaide junior, Scott was Port Adelaide through and through and we thank him for his passion and commitment to our club.
Old Slyce retiring although that hasn’t come directly from him
And FRO Kern
He’s a WCE man. Played more games for us too

I would have loved to keep him beyond 2018 but agree with thisWe made a very good call not to squeeze the salary cap further to keep him. Handy player but not worth the cash Port were prepared to pay. Also had the same unfortunate durability problems like a lot of our players around his age.
Shades of Lyon announcing a player's retirement before the player had the chance - the player concerned escapes me though.
Pretty sure he did it to someone at Freo tooSteven Baker

How do you figure AFLW wins are weighted higher than AFL wins? Basically a club can't win unless its men's team performs well. The McClelland trophy is the award that no-one knows what to do with. Used to be awarded for the minor premiership, but no-one cared as all that counts is the actual premiership.
Earlier this year the AFL announced the current ham fisted idea to award it for the team with the best combined finish with AFL and AFLW. Predictably, there are some obvious flaws that have been revealed:
-no one asked for a combination and the two leagues are treated very differently by fans (as they are completely separate competitions with different rules)
-AFLW plays far less games than AFL, meaning they need a debatable conversion system (games are worth double for AFLW)
-AFLW is a far inferior level of competition, so it feels wrong to weigh it higher than AFL

Melbourne is officially the best performed club across both AFL and AFLW in 2023, with the Demons officially named winners of the McClelland Trophywww.afl.com.au
That's the formula the AFL used, because they played less games. How do you figure AFLW wins are weighted higher than AFL wins? Basically a club can't win unless its men's team performs well.
