The only catalyst for our demise has been ourselves, let's be honest.

Attitude in the hubs stank and really set the tone. Be good to see some pride onfield with Mini hopefully.

Nobody defending Hewett re: De Goey incident is probably the worst thing I've ever seen in our colours. Think we're turning the corner tho.
Staker getting punched was much much worse. Only Beau Waters responded and that was at quarter time.

It's too bad Barry hall never became a professional boxer after football, which was speculated a lot while he was playing
I would pay good moneys to see his melon getting punched

The bloke who organised it in Australia got 7 years here, others who had done a previous run got 5. The head of the crime syndicate was never charged.
2 of the 9 were executed, 1 died in prison, the 5 that have just been released did 19 years, 2 of them were stupid naive teenagers at the time.
Fair enough they did the crime but I think they've done their time.

Edit: Also people who lose their life to the needle have to be held somewhat responsible for their own stupid decisions.
Good for you, you've got your opinion I've got mine.
Should've left them there IMO.

To be fair Staker got punched off the ball, in the goal square, almost every other eagle was in front of him looking the other way.

Was at the game, was very hard to work out what happened and why Staker was lying down.

I still personally think in 2019 had the weather not changed against Richmond in the h&a game we would have won the flag.

The players put everything into that match and were just cooked the week after vs the Hawks.

If the weather stayed fine we had Richmond covered easy at the G.
I love the optimism.

However, if we had won 2019, it certainly changes the complexion of the period. Tigers "only" win 2 flags, Martin "only" 2 norm smiths. Knocks them off the discussion as better/equal to the Hawks who won three in a row, we sit level with 2 flags in the period as well.

I don't think Tigers are anywhere near the Hawks three-peat, which was behind the Lions three-peat.

Tigers are closer to Geelong 07-11, but I think Geelong beats them due to their overall dominance in wins over that period.

I agree that had we won two, we would have elevated ourselves into one of the top 5 flag eras of the 2000s (Lions 1st, Hawks 2nd, Cats 3rd, Eagles then Tigers). As it is, we're not even in that conversation but let's hope we can win more in our next window.

They're still yet to re-sign Brayshaw and Dockers fans expect them to still be in the box seat for Chad Warner. I'd love to know under what imaginary salary cap they're under unless they insist on paying Warner $100,000 a year for 20 years.

Despite the chatter about signing on, I just wouldn't be at all surprised if Brayshaw leaves.
