Bro felt disrespected by Freo's apparent contract offer after only playing like six games in four seasons...now I don't like the Dockers as much as the next Eagles fan but even I think that's dumb as hell to crap on them like that when you didn't play at all :tearsofjoy:

Don't like this either. You walk away and focus on what you can do as a player at your new club. I also dislike the subtle digs at clubs too like "I've never trained so hard", "Never been with such a tight group" 5 minutes after walking into a new club

Waiting on a response from Kano.

I know it's an unpopular opinion but that is a fair response from Kornes imo.

It's not like Rozee is a spud (so far) and now that it's done - well, you hope to hell it works out because if he starts plateauing or even dropping in 2024, you have seven years left before he's out of contract.

I'd also be querying how my club is run if Oscar was given an eight year contract even if so far he's proven he deserves a long term contract.

I rarely agree with KCornes, but (like FP) I find myself agreeing with him on this.
Would I be happy for WCE to sign ANY player till 2032 on about a $Mill per year? No bl**dy way!
4-5 years are about the most that should be risked. Any more is just too injury/form/motivation/mental health risky for me.

I knew you'd all come over to the Kane Train eventually. :hearts::hearts:

Just because a broken clock is right twice a day doesn’t mean it’s reliable

Same as this plonker

He’s right about the dangers of long term contracts but that doesn’t validate the rest of the shit he spews

I think we have to be abut more honest. Kane has been banging on for years about how we let the standards drop and the club denied and denied until finally Shuey openly came out in a presser and basically confirmed what Kane said. Kane also said we got complacent as a club and if the rumours about the medical issues not being diagnosed correctly and the club being disappointed re Harry Edwards are to be believed than its tough to argue the club didn't got complacent and was far from industry leading in terms of strength and conditioning. Yes Kane went overboard with attacks on individual players but you can't deny his overall premise that as a club we let our standards drop.

If anyone needs a reminder on what a grub Brent Harvey was, rewatch the 2012 qualifying final.

Multiple strikes to the neck / head region in the first quarter and a half from the little guy.

Or that game in tassie where the midget knocked the ball out of priddis hands and conned the ump into giving a 50m penalty.

Effectively cost us the game

I always worry about Darcys longevity and its the main reason why I never wanted the Eagles to consider trading for him. He looks like the kind of ruckman that is going to struggle in his later years. Similar to Nic towards the end but potentially happening earlier for Darcy.

So it’s not even Christmas and two players (McStay and Smith) already ruled out of 2024 with ACLs

Grim
The speed of the game has gone to ridiculous levels. Clubs embraced the Richmond idea of constant pressure and Collingwood took it to the next level (with a flag to show for it). From what you guys are reporting at training, it seems like repeat sprinting is being incorporated into every session to get players as fit as possible. Means that they are then doing the drills under fatigue.

More chances of injuries at training. The higher level of intensity also means they're spending more weeks of the year going 100%, which will also increase fatigue and injury risk.

Yep confirms my suspicion that Richmond are campaigners and have ruined the sport
