Hawks still have a bit of running power and experience which makes them better than I thought they would be. Mitchell has obviously gone a bit more attack so they are moving the ball quicker which helps when you have an experienced forward like Gunstan and a player ready to shine in Mitchell. Their midfield may not be jets but Mitchell , O'Meara and Worpel can run all day.
Pies a little the same. They have gone a bit more attacking and they have a lot of guys who can run out games.

They've been impressive. Hawthorn do this very frequently to even the best teams so I wouldn't read anything into it.
They're 3-0 having beaten Bulldogs and Richmond with a soft fixture coming up. For some perspective, we've lost 18 out of the last 19 games against Bulldogs and Richmond combined.
Wins and no injuries are all that matter at this stage of the year. They've placed themselves in a good position for a possible top 6 finish. We usually start shit and throw away any chance of finishing top 6 by round 4.
Credit where credit's due, Carlton couldnt have asked for a better start to the season. Fox sports calling Carlton & Hawthorn possible GF preview? Not sure about that.

Good thing they’re utilising Balta in the forward half with 2 goals from 3 kicks. Saints talls aren’t doing much at the other end…

Richmond, as we saw tonight, are no where near what they once were.
Doggies aren't as bad as the other two but still meh and not the biggest measuring stick (us last year).
Hence, the jury's still out on Carlton, as I expected. Would have been interesting to see them perform with the first 3 rounds we had.
A lot of people were quick to say they were back, finals wins this and that. You're right, they've been kissed on the dick with the fixture but that's not gonna win you finals and we know that best.
Think a lot of people are gonna be a little embarrassed blowing their load on the Blues early once the season and more raw data gets going.

With all due respect to Western Australia and their accommodation during the 2021 season, they did however take longer to vaccinate and open up, so they should have expected the very likelihood of a peak in cases and hence the higher chances of transmission/isolation/sickies coinciding with the start of the season.

That’s not the fault of the clubs though.
It is absolutely unfair but the comp is inherently unfair and your success is basically defined by how you can take advantage of someone else’s misfortune, Essendon supporters should know that all too well.
Anyone with any sense can see that Carlton have a good squad. Good spine and strong midfield. They're far closer to Sydney last year than Essendon last year as their superior midfield makes them more likely to be competitive in a final compared to us.
Look at their upcoming games:
Gold Coast away
Port at home
Fremantle away
North Melbourne
Adelaide at home
I expect them to win all of them, which makes them 8-0 to start the year. Top 4 is a real possibility, which would guarantee a home final (something we haven't achieved since 2002). From there, winning a final at home with their squad is not a crazy suggestion.

Yep I agree especially considering its Cerra's homecoming. Carlton however have a good recent record against Freo so I wouldn't be surprised if they won.
It's a common belief that a coach has 10 years to win a flag on average.
