I know Hogan nominated GWS when he left the Dees but we really should have been in his ear at the time. Would've been exactly what we needed.

He was traded to Fremantle, mostly sucked, then found a third chance at GWS

They got one of those FRPS because they traded hopper to Richmond

Essendon drafted Aaron Francis with an earlier pick that same draft and traded him to Sydney last year for a much worse return.

The Suns had the same AFL handouts and are a much worse team with none of the success. At some point credit where credit is due

It’s been worked out elsewhere but the Suns had significantly less given to them when they were set up, GWS also had the benefit of seeing how Gold Coast went about it to learn what not to do.

The GWS academy has also (up until maybe this draft anyway) produced much better talent for them, e.g. Tom Green.

In other footy news, I saw Elsternwick (D3 Ammos) in red and black beat Richmond City (Obviously same colours) and Hawthorne amateurs in their reserves and seniors grand finals today.

Hogan probably doing better/thriving out of the footy fishbowl I don't think there would have been the same outcome if he went back to Melbourne with the stuff that was going on in his life. Made such a difference with those big contested marks and goals. If Hogan keeps standing up they give it a shake. Great to see Coniglio playing well. Their mids hands in tight were so good and creative. Hopefully Briggs gets up but I imagine they have other monsters lining up if he doesn't.

Well he actually returned home to Perth when he left Melbourne and played for Fremantle due to family / personal reasons . But yes we should have been in his ear when he decided to leave Fremantle. Not sure he wanted to come back to live in Melbourne but who knows.

Crazy thing is GWS are doing this and have pick a better pick in the draft than Essendon. A 2nd First round pick and a former No 1 pick key forward developing in the VFL.

Their list management team is really exceptional

Trading for Jesse Hogan was one of the best things they did. That forward line next year; Hogan, Cadman, Greene, Daniels, Bedford, Riccardi. If they don't make a GF this year they may well next year.

If there’s one side you’d wish your side to be I reckon ot would be Giants. Great balance of attack and defence. Class level of that midfield and the way they play with high skill level. Defence is underrated with guys like Idun and Buckley stepping up. Balance of that forward line with talls and two pressure smalls plus the elite Greene. Physical as well ..got some big athletic boys.

Why didn't the AFL schedule it so both teams that got through the semi had a minimum 7 day break. Giants have 6 days and Carlton 8 days.
