not jake stringer!Mitch Cleary just said a bunch of GWS players have copped suspensions for poor behaviour at their end of season party. Nothing illegal but apparently inappropriate. Wonder who.
The excuse apparently was "GC threatened to trade pick 13 directly to Collingwood without involving Port".View attachment 2142851
Take out the offsets for Port…
Pick 13 -/- 2025 First Round
Pick 36 -/- Pick 39
Pick 50 -/- Pick 58
They’ve traded a 2x All Aust player under contract for Lukosius, Richards, Atkins and pick 29.
&Atkins and Lukosius were salary dumps (last time they did a salary dump they gave the side Pick7)View attachment 2142851

The point isn’t to produce quality, it’s to get you listening to that crap and probably a bunch of adsJosh Jenkins last night on SEN said that Blues must have identified a player they want to have traded up to 3. But then said what if that player is then not available?? Well Josh they’ve clearly identified that there’s at least three good players that they would be happy with. Other two guys he was on with didn’t call him out either.
GCS need to be saved from themselvesHQ need to ban Gold Coast from trading for 2 seasons
Weddle is the player I was thinking of when i saw Allan play, very powerful kid. Only thing is I heard some say he turns it over a bit much and the first and only time I saw him his first possession was a horrid turnover through the middle.And now West Coast's path to that West Aussie kid opens up.
Pundits and fans need to wait at least until the end of trade period before jumping up and down about these deals.
JayJ20, reading Bo Allan's profile suggests he is a player with elite attributes that could provide star power to a side. I'm not saying that is a guarantee that he will be one of the best players in the draft but it's a a significant factor in making a decision like this. We saw it previously when West Coast essentially chose Ginby and Hewett over Sheezel or Wardlaw.
Allan reads as something of a Josh Weddell, 6'3, aggressive, long kicking and with lots of power and athleticism, who knows how to play midfield (or at least more than Weddell did). He could provide that dynamic from half back. If Allan was Matthew Johnson, for example, I think it would be a harder thing to justify - not because Johnson isn't / wont be a solid player but because they would pretty clearly be losing out on potential elite talent.
It is not a strategy without risk. Someone could take Allan or he might be a bust. But at least the latter factor is no less a potential issue if they used #3. I've done a bit more reading and Allan would provide West Coast with a very well balanced set of midfield options in order of recruitment:
1. Chesser, a 184cm generalist, who can in his own ball but has speed to be dangerous spreading from the context, something like Caldwell or Shuey;
2. Ginby, a 191cm West Aussie meat axe, who is very aggressive, physical and athletic in the mould of Elliott Yeo or maybe more Jarrod Berry as a style of player;
3. Hewett, a 184cm West Aussie whose strengths are speed and breaking from congestion, running with the ball generally and footskills, in the mould of a Rozee or Chad Warner;
4. Reid, a 187cm prodigy;
5. Hall, a 6'3 West Australian inside specialist and accumulator thinking something between Will Brodie and Jack McRae;
6. Allan, 6'3 another West Australian and an explosive ball carrier and aggressive contested player.
Culley might be another big body who specialises in the contested side of the game. I'd be very happy with that as a set of options.

Did you hear Cornes on SEN bagging them for picking Ginby the other day? Ridiculously early call to make. just because Daicos/Reid/Ashcroft/Sheezel have had an immediate impact doesnt mean all draftees do.And now West Coast's path to that West Aussie kid opens up.

He’s just saying that shit because ragebait gets engagement. From what I have seen of GInby he looks like he has a lot of upside and would love a guy like him at Essendon.
It's all well and good if you consider the deal they made was the only way they could get themselves in a position to grab a pick that gives them access to Bo Allan.And now West Coast's path to that West Aussie kid opens up.

You should email that to them along with your CVIt's all well and good if you consider the deal they made was the only way they could get themselves in a position to grab a pick that gives them access to Bo Allan.
Barrass+F3rd out for 14+F2nd- Was offered, they rejected.
Baker+24 in for 14 - Baker OOC, Tigers fold and accept, they have no choice.
2 year draft hand is...
2024 - 3, 24, 26 - Baker in, Barrass out
2025 1st, 2nd, 2nd (Hawks)
Now if they really want Bo Allan, they go to blues and trade 3 for 12, F1st, 34 and Owies (Blues paid this)
12, 24, 26, 34
2025 - 1st, 1st(Blues), 2nd, 2nd(Hawks)
There is no world where you can justify what they've done, they have butchered their trade period.
