He wasn't chased out. He is from there and has family there. Losing him was a big loss but inevitable as he will probably get the coaching gig at Port.

Even the AFL website cant get it right, the article on the website says Narm but the fixtures and ladder say Port and Melbourne. If you are going to do this initiative to honour the round then make sure all the stakeholders understand.

So when we lost Neale and Hill we could have had B King and Butters or Rozzee
Instead we got a druggy who loved getting drunk and smoke cigarettes in Hogan who was also injured and Lobb who was only in it for the money and moved to where his missus wants him.

Even though that sucks I reckon our midfield will be even better when Ras and Johno hit there prime. Don't forget Wines and Boak are getting old.

Yeah for age Brayshaw Rozzee Butters and Serong would put us in contravention sooner than Raz n Johnson
We would have been able to grab Johnson anyway with GC pick
I get what you mean but I'm just pissed we go for names fir quick fix. Hogan was a thorn in our side
Rozee gone the pick before our pick 6.
Butters gone 2 picks before our own first rounder.

Yeah it would be nice to just enjoy watching some great quality football without everything always returning to how Freo f**ked up by not drafting every good player ever available in the draft.
23 y.o. west australian kpf kicking 40+ goals a season who used to support freo not really a quick fix.
It'd basically be the same as trading for Naughton now and most would do that. All the off-field stuff with Hogan only really became apparent once the trade was done/ he'd come over. At the time I thought with grieving the loss of his dad the best thing for him would be family.

Naughton doesn't have the drug n drink n injury baggage
Like I said the drug and drink baggage only appeared to become apparent after the fact.
Hogan doesn't look very injured nowadays.

But he was injured on arrival. He was in rehabilitation group from day one.
He was always on the drugs too. Did you not see the vid of him off chops on the pingas at a party prior to joining Freo?
In the real world doing drugs means **** all to employers unless they impact an employee’s ability to do their job or its that bad it attracts the attention of the cops.
I’m yet to see any evidence the AFL is any different other than the dogsh** media making it into a problem it isn’t.
Hogan had a club suspension because he rocked up to training still ****ed up. We could’ve sacked Bennell so many times but we didn’t seem to really care at all until he came to training still not over the night before.
It was known Hogan had some off field stuff that wasn’t ideal but it didn’t effect his footy at Melbourne. It was probably reasonable enough to assume it wouldn’t here.
Realistically the club caved into the media’s BS and/or couldn’t mange him effectively. Trading him out for **** all two years after he came in should reflect as poorly on the club as doing the trade in the first place. It’s all in the past now though.

Sorry but that is a naive view. The off field stuff was known by Melbourne- it’s why they let him go, and it was known at freo - it’s why the mythical feather in the cap referred to keeping Neale rather than acquiring hogan.

They likely both lost their jobs as a result of the trade, so there was some accountability
