He was 24 and one of the best players in a premiership side.

These days we probably trade our first rounder for the next year as well but end up with a second rounder back, which probably means we get more than the zero games we got from that National Draft.

As others said not sure we took the draft too seriously back then. Two of those draft picks were delisted within two years, the other was a depth player previously delisted that same off season. We took the picks because we had to not because we wanted to. These days every club puts more emphasis on the draft.

Not getting a single 100 game player from a draft would be a disaster these days tbh - don’t believe it’s happened for us in some time.

I unsubscribed the day he announced he was leaving. It's a shame, especially for those of us interstate.

Apparently he's back in now, Kane Farrell is a late out for some reason. Truly bizarre to drop a guy like that in the first place though, old mate Kenny is losing it.

Josh Carr was seen as what the club desperately needed in 2004 too. We were viewed as soft and flaky. 2003 we made the finals for the first time, and got bullied by the Bombers on our home deck. 2004 we were very inconsistent.

We obviously didn't respect the draft in 2001 and 2002, but unfortunately from 2002-2005, we very rarely had good picks. We were in no mans land which is terrible for the draft. 7th in 2003, 9th in 2004, 10th in 2005 and 4th in 2006.
