At the time I feel like Josh Carr
was the type of player that two first rounders (with a second coming back) get traded for now.
He was 24 and one of the best players in a premiership side.
These days we probably trade our first rounder for the next year as well but end up with a second rounder back, which probably means we get more than the zero games we got from that National Draft.
As others said not sure we took the draft too seriously back then. Two of those draft picks were delisted within two years, the other was a depth player previously delisted that same off season. We took the picks because we had to not because we wanted to. These days every club puts more emphasis on the draft.
Not getting a single 100 game player from a draft would be a disaster these days tbh - don’t believe it’s happened for us in some time.
