Score review system in this sport is the biggest embarrassment of any sport.
Umpire isn't sure, so asks for a score review
With multiple angles and replays, they can't make a call, so they make no call and send it back to the person who literally didn't know, hence why we even had the review
Umpire guessed, because they're not allowed to admit they don't know
The stupidity hurt us against Richmond and now it's hurt Melbourne
All this technology only for the answer to be - we don't know
"Get over it and move on"No, the goal umpire was a few metres away and the umpires call was touched. There was insufficient evidence to disprove this call so it remained with the umpires decision (like it would have been for over 100 years before technology)
The technology is only there to eliminate the howler. That wasn't a howler and neither was the Richmond one. Get over it and move on.
"Get over it and move on"
First of all spare me for even using that tone
Second of all the score review system is clearly broken. It wasn't touched, the umpire guessed and a team was robbed, so clearly it needs to be addressed.
I'm surprised they didn't get rid of him in last year's fire sale. They could've conned Gold Coast into taking him for a 2nd rounderIf that is a torn achilles for Wingard, I wonder if that is career done. He is 30 with a probably 12 month recovery so will miss most of/if not all of next season. He'll be 32 by the time he gets back and I could see a world where Hawthorn might not have a spot in the team for him.
Agreed but they play Launceston well and we actually play MCG quite well.Hawks won't be easy in the final round. Or next year.
Still beats what happened in ESS - Freo game when the umpire asked Ty Zantuck if he wanted a behind or a free kick to Matty Carr in our F50 (Zantuck bumped Carr as he had a shot at goal and scored a behind). Zantuck chose behind. I suppose these things can only happen to us and no other teamScore review system in this sport is the biggest embarrassment of any sport.

It's like Beveridge thinks he's smarter than everyone and does so much weird shit as a coach.Bulldogs are frauds coached by a moron
But he’s the right coach to get the best out of Rory.Bulldogs are frauds coached by a moron
That‘s right Fred. But he’s the right coach to get the best out of Rory.
If Richmond have a bad year next year they could be entering fire sale territory. And we know clearly now why Hardwick pulled the plug a few weeks ago - he knew Richmond were about to fall off the proverbial cliff. Reminds me of RTB's post-match presser when St Kilda went out in 2011. He pretty much announced to the world that there was nothing left in the club's tank.
He's never coached the Dogs to the top 4 after a H&A season. The goodwill from the lucky Premiership and Covid GF appearance has to be running dry.Other than being umpired to a Premiership 7 years ago they have massively underachieved.
Shame for him and the hawks, he’s been really good recently - has been good to watch. If that is a torn achilles for Wingard, I wonder if that is career done. Baker as well.If Richmond have a bad year next year they could be entering fire sale territory.
Come on down to freo, Shai Bolton.
