Wait so the AFLW season is only 11 games even though there are 18 teams?

What type of horseshit is that? Competition is completely crooked
We played the bulldogs yesterday for the first time in 3 seasons i believe it was. Two inaugural teams. The only team we can be assured of each season is the weags. Rest is a lottery.

Another weird thing is how - with smaller team size; shit pay; crap conditions; idiotic drafting and trading rules - quickly teams can turn over. How many from that team that played the Dogs three years ago are still on our list?

Hawks winning a million bucks on the back of their women's team's record - when they didn't play 5 of the top 8 - is outrageous. Absolute horsecock.

Hopefully the men's team spend it all creating non-AFL approved Hokball merchandise to sell; which later gets seized and destroyed for copyright reasons. Brown and yellow enema kits. Life-sized bobblehead dolls that double as buttplugs. That sort of thing.

Has any one been reading how the AFL want to look at making changes, the changes that were changed when the last lot of changes were changed!!!
The double goal rule, 6-6-6- infringment rule, kicking for goal 30 sec down to 20,etc?
Apparently they are asking the clubs for input. How about they get in touch with the hundreds of thousands of members from all club in the AFL.
3X6 infringment rule should have been in place after one year, not wait for four years.
Double goal rule should be,as Malcolm Blight has said, goal and the ball goes back to the centre for the free.
But I wonder when the AFL will look at the ruck contests. They are a blight on the game.The two combatants, wrestle, grab guernseys, hold each other, scrag each other around the neck, throw each other around like rag dolls, all the time the Greenies keep the whistle away from their mouth.
BUT, should one of the many favoured champions as much as get an opposition play look at them sideways,touch any part of them, the blast from at least one whistle is sure to sound.
Why are the rules any different in ruck contests to anywhere else on the ground.
If what happens anywhere in ruck contests happen anywhere else on the field, the whistle sure gets a work out. Well to some thatt are the favoured few.
But as has been said by many, do the AFL reallly care!! Do they give a sheeit that it psses off the spectators!!!The spectators are the ones that make the game, after the players. We expect to be able to at least get one decision right after 120 minutes of football.
Watch the ruck work change in the first five minutes of a game when the Greenies begin to give frees immediately when an infringement occurs.

Agree with all those changes. 100% on 666 rule, insane that clubs still get a warning. Double goal is just dumb.

What changes ?

they not after fair competition. they seem to be just after expanding the game. will take a lot of discussion with players to be able to expand season further when most of the players have full time jobs and are not paid enough by AFL to become full time footballers.

Sadly theAFLW games is still not where it should be . not making enough income to increase payments, not enough crowds . not enough TV rights.

Will take many years before it finally expands to 17 rounds.
Until then it is just something we have to live with,

What the umpires award Carlton to try to get them in the 8.
had a search through BF and found huge debates on it.

Seems most dont understand the rule. It is not a DOUBLE GOaL rule it is the DOWNFIELD Rule.

Rule basically says that a Free kick will occur where it occurs or downfield where the ball is whatever is the advantage to the awarded free kick team.

So if someone gives a free kick in goal square , yep that where the free is take from

Great rule.

Now as to whether Jordan actually gave away that free or not is debatable. but we had already lost the game prior to that free kick, was really not enough time to get the one goal back let alone too.

So good rule to keep.

The 6-6-6 rule should be enforced with a Free kick immediatly. No warnings

Set shot clock is fine at 30sec, dont lower it

Ruck contests is more controversial. Rules do cover that there should be no pulling of jumpers but body on body is ok, arm in front to block the other ruck is ok too. Jsut a strength tussle.

Except the ump should have paid it when the descent occurred, ie after the BS mark was paid, should have been a 50m penalty and taken the first shot to the goal line. Instead the ump waited until the goal was kicked and then gifted the blues another goal for funzies

When watching the videos the issue occured after the goal quite clearly. there was no WAITING for a goal so they could deliberlty gift a second goal. It was on the way back from the goal square that Jordans actions were deemed discent as he was upset and foolishly walked too close to the umpire who heard it. Whether directed at umpire or not is debatable. but the timing is after the goal.

Yes first umpire not paying TOUCHED was a human error.

Body on body is not the problem. Bump and use your strength, but when a player puts his arms around another player, as happens with mids and forwards, there should be a free paid.
When a ruckman puts his arm over the others shoulder, it should be a free. As per anywhere on the ground.
Watch ruck contests, be they throw ins or throw ups, hold, grab guernseys, throw the opposition out of the way. All non frees according to the umpires. But,also watch the soft free that happens when one of the favoured champion mid fielders even get touched. The umpirs can't wait to blow the whistle.
The mauling and wrestling is not part of the game. There are frees at every ruck contest, if they pay them down back or up forward, they should be paid in ruck contests.
Sorry fellas, but the word is dissent.Descent is going downward.
Not normally a sspelling Nazi,as it is usually I who get called out over my scattered typing errors and a failure to edit properly.
Hang on. just going to checkour and edit.;);)

i guess with so many rules it comes down to some inerptration

A field Umpire shall award a Free Kick in a Ruck contest against a Player where the Player:
(a) who is not a Ruck, contests a throw-up or boundary throw-in;
(b) unduly pushes or bumps an opposition Ruck;
(c) blocks an opposition Ruck;
(d) makes contact with an opposition Ruck prior to the football leaving the field or boundary Umpire’s hand;

RULE change introduced,

  • Straight-arm blocks will be permitted in a ruck contest, provided the player contests the ball
So the word UNDULY, what does that mean. This is up to interpretation sadly as so many Incorrect Disposal/ Holding ball rules are

And the line d) is the critical part. NO contact until the ball either leaves te ground if bounced or leaves the umpires hand for throwins and throwups. This is not always moderated in my opinion

The new rule of allowing blockign with a straight arm is also contentious as it says "provided the player contests the ball" again open to interpretation similar to the jumping on palyers shoulders when marking.

I firmly believe the rules need to be more BLACK AND WHITE and no GREY open for interpretation.
