For all of you concerned about a Harley Reid. Remember the flash in the pan who won the rising star.

Coupla things;
You forgot Jai Culley. Could be good.
I'm not so sure WC has more pain ahead. They are going to keep targeting free agents with their (sussly unlimited) cap space and bring in mid age-range players to cover for the retiring veterans. The days of the amusing 100+ thrashings are likely behind them now.
And finally, I thought Jamie Cripps was 52. Looks at least a year older than me.
He's definitely way better than Rhys PalmerFor all of you concerned about a Harley Reid. Remember the flash in the pan who won the rising star.

The man child. He's definitely way better than Rhys Palmer
I think he's almost at his peak already though, he's matured early and is basically already an AFL player
They will still be hitting the draft hard, too, but my point was that they have ways to finagle their salary cap. Seems they will be able to rebuild and top up at the same time. That strategy you are championing is basically what we tried in 2018 and we absolutely butchered it. The only team to rebuild on the run with FA and trade only is Geelong. So West Coast are going to need to find Danger and Cameron.
fixed it for youActually loving these optimistic and giddy fans.
Don’t tell them that the whole team is held up by the experienced players
Darling3331
Sheed 29
Cripps 32
Waterman2726
McGovern 32
Barass 28
Kelly 29
Ryan2827
Not to mention
Gaff3331
Yeo3230
Little youth other than Reid. Maric meh. Chesser is a fail.
Hough is alright, but he’s a defensive small defender. Hardly inspiring
The rebuild actually haven’t really began if you really think about it.
fixed it for you
you are right, we do need to put things in perspective. But after our last couple of years, its hard not to let emotions boil over. I get we are not world-beaters, but from where we were, we are heading in the right direction.Reece Palmer / Reid analogy? This is wishful thinking Reid is a superstar. Best first year player since Judd easily. Sure we haven't seen how is going to handle a proper tag or how his first couple of leg injuries impact his explosiveness (Judd was decidedly mortal the second half his career after injury to the edge off his explosiveness. That second Brownlow was a disgrace), but a flash in the pan? Ludicrous.
Also to all the West Coast fans chiming in here to correct mistaken impression here that you are not back (which is mad in itself, as if what we think would make a difference): You are not back yet. There is a long way to go given the shape of your list profile. You should hope for your own sake that your admin is not secretly back on the bathwater: It would be a mistake to assume your squad can be built back to contention while the current star players aged 29+ are still stars. Sure, it's not impossible: What I'm staying is the Eagles strategy should be to assume it won't happen and act accordingly. If does happen it's a bonus.
Absolutely fair. If you have historically awful seasons, and those 2 were some of the worst of all time, these results are bloody worth getting excited about. It's nowhere near the finished product but you take these ones as they're a sign of what can happen to come. Step one on the way back up is to make home games harder for travelling sides.you are right, we do need to put things in perspective. But after our last couple of years, its hard not to let emotions boil over. I get we are not world-beaters, but from where we were, we are heading in the right direction.
Wow…fixed it for you

Maybe they should wait for him to extend that contract before writing articles like this. Side note, how dumb do North Melbourne look now winning that last game last year and missing out on Reid.I had a giggle.View attachment 1994948
Have to push out Yeo, Gaff, Darling and McGovern on their overpriced contracts though.I had a giggle.View attachment 1994948
Yeo and Gaff are out of contract this year aren’t they?Have to push out Yeo, Gaff, Darling and McGovern on their overpriced contracts though.
Free agents I believe.Yeo and Gaff are out of contract this year aren’t they?
Or even not just giving up picks 2 & 3 for him.Maybe they should wait for him to extend that contract before writing articles like this. Side note, how dumb do North Melbourne look now winning that last game last year and missing out on Reid.
That was still the right decision, it's not basketball. 18 on the field.Or even not just giving up picks 2 & 3 for him.
Well perhaps you are right since they are gonna have to spend half their salary cap on Reids next contract. Haha.I highly doubt that. I know it's popular to claim certain clubs rort caps and probably some do, but there isn't some magic where they can find a dozen quality players out of nowhere.
That I do agree with. That dude is getting $2m offers from Victoria.Well perhaps you are right since they are gonna have to spend half their salary cap on Reids next contract. Haha.
Waterman has 4 frees for the season.I don't think it is just coincidence that Reid and Waterman are both staring at home games compared to their away performances.
Reid averages about 15 disposals away and has kicked 1 goal from his 4 games vs 20 disposals and 6 goals at 5 home games.
Waterman averages 2 goals a game more at home.
Both of these players are playing great football, but favorable umpiring makes a difference to what they can get away with and just as importantly, what their opposition can do to counter them.
The kid can play. Any football person would be able to see that. For all of you concerned about a Harley Reid. Remember the flash in the pan who won the rising star.
