This is nothing compared to the "Aker wars" which I used to read a few years ago before only making account relatively recently. i actually think this board has softened a lot in the last 6 months. But overall I do agree that some posters take it too far though but most have softened with old age.
i have been on for a few months now maybe i have contributed to the softening, i know i have definitely contributed to the raising of the average age of the big footy community:)

This raises its head every few months, that those who post the most outlandish opinions and statements are unfairly dealt with by those who have a more level headed demeanour.
Just like in normal life, people are judged not just by what they have to say, but their attitudes and how they present their thoughts. If people are going to post c*ck sure definitives that aren't fact, and react unreasonably to news with outrageous comments and then subsequently make posts completely contrary to previous opinion, then they are going to be called out.
The fact that someone apologises or makes an admission that they might have been wrong or overreacted, doesn't make that behaviour go away or be forgotten. Sure it'll be thrown back at you from time to time. You made the comments on a public forum, so you have to own it and suck up the criticisms.
If people are so sensitive about being reminded of what they have said/done in the past, maybe don't type it out and post it online.

I think the only fair and reasonable way to judge any individual's contribution to the Lions board is their SRR quotient.

Simpsons Reference Ratio = no of posts made divided by no of Simpsons references in those posts multiplied by the square of the average comedic value of those references times the average relevance of those references to the topic at hand (with a value of one representing perfect relevance).

The issue for me is that you can't divide by zero (total number of Simpsons posts) ... so I think I'm actually invalid...

Maybe we get a notional 1 to save the system ... I imagine they do it in cricket so if I make 10 not out my average is 10 not /error/ ... ?

By virtue of the fact that you just obliquely referenced the Simpsons, your reference value will no longer be zero so it's all good.

Anyway, you provide training reports of the highest quality so you get a papal dispensation for your lack of Simpsons quotes.

Thanks ... I thought it was per wicket because it was the only way I could make a tail ender's high score of 4 and average of 10 make sense ...
Correct.
It is per wicket.
If you never get out .... you don't have an average.

(no Simpsons Reference post .... No Simpsons Reference Ratio)

Yeesh.

"I don't believe they do things properly, to be honest with you.

"I was on edge up there. I don't feel as though a lot of the players played with fear their spot was (in danger), and that's the way I played.

"I had an up and down final year there, broke my shoulder which didn't help, then played a couple of really good games at the end of the year and they said "Nah, not good enough"," Weller recalled.

"I was always going to ask for a trade anyway and get out of there because I didn't believe in the club, didn't believe in the coach and just wanted to get out of there to further my footy.

It's clear the Suns have a lot of problems, but I can't see what good these comments do for anyone.

Doesn't bode well for the Suns fans who are hopeful of luring Lachie Weller home.

Pretty sure the whole family moved to Victoria to follow Mav anyway, so there's bigger issues for those Suns fans - largely around the definition of "home".

Yeah, some have praised him for his honesty, but 2 years on, the comments just come across as whiney.

Yep he could learn from his good mate - Mitch Robinson how to do media after signing a new contract and how to do this with class. Mitch didn't mention carlton in his interview. Different circumstances between the two players I know and yes I did use Mitch Robinson and class in the same sentence, but Mitch's interview just knocks what Mav said in his interview out of the ball park (if he indeed said those things...)
