Yeah it's nonsense that he was bad today, he turned it over a few times which is what they'll remember but he still got it 25 times, gets clearances, gets it on the outside, is usually a good kick, good tackler etc. That he's getting those number and people say he played crap suggests he's a good player imo.

I'd say we won the Beams trade tbh, you won Aish trade. All up it's probably close to even.

Na the calls to drop Crisp are justified. He is a solid foot solider but not the young stars fans made him out to be last year.

As for winning the Beams trade you got a good youngster in De Goey but I think Pies fans massively overrate him. Just because Pies fans overate him doesn't mean he isn't a good young player or even really good but I think they rate him higher then his output has justified which in many respects is only natural. Greenwood and Crisp are foot soldiers. Beams is an A grader. We won that trade, DBeams has already won a BnF for us.

I think Pickering has to wear a lot of responsibility for Aish's struggle, I feel as an outsider looking in he should have told Aish to harden up and stay in Brisbane and do a full apprenticeship. Instead made him feel as though all the hard work was done and he will now be a superstar.

Sadly James is finding out now getting to the top takes hard work over many years, not one ok season first up.

All joking aside, he has some potential as an inside mid. Would need to physically bulk up to do it but he's capable.

Problem is that the Pies don't need an inside mid. Pendlebury, Adams, Treloar, Sidebottom, Greenwood are all ahead of him there. A really bad fit.

You're right, the problem with James is he's a walking oxymoron. His best attribute is quick hands inside the contest but he doesn't have the size or the mindset to succeed as an inside player... He's going to need some serious brainwashing if he's going to make it

If he is, no doubt trying to distance himself from being labelled a "coward" following his coward punch which has been front and centre in the media here in Melbourne the past week following the death of an 18 year old that was cowardly hit from behind.

Regardless of what Rance has to say, he is simply a coward and nothing can now change that. Fortunately Jack Watts didn't suffer the same fate as Patrick Cronin did, but Rance's actions aren't too far removed from the alleged actions of Andrew Lee.

Yeah ugly incident, total brainfart. But it lacked the pre-meditation of a "coward punch" IMO.

He seems a pretty good sort usually Rance. I don't think it will happen again.
