I watched the SANFL Grand Final Replay after the match last night and, even though it was a dour struggle due to huge pressure. The rating topped 200 for most of the match. The standard of play was far superior to that produced last night. Even many H & A games in the SANFL and some VFL are superior to that effort form Bombers and Port.

There were some segments that were really good, Horne-Francis taking the ball millimetres from the Bomber's player's hands and kicking a goal. El Hawli's run off HB and his ability to take several times and deliver. I think he turned the match for Bombers. Very good player. Very exciting for Bomber's fans. But the problem was the lack of disposal skills that was very obvious. Handballs that should never have been given or were poorly executed. Kicks that were over the head or to the left or right or too short or looked like hack kicks. Players running seemingly random patterns and not getting into good position to receive or players with the ball getting into trouble by holding onto the ball too long. It was a litany of poor footy.

I hope we NEVER play like that. Of course when we were developing the team we have now we did play several games like that and three games last season like that. Hopefully, we can have a more consistent season this year. Improving as the season goes on.

Really? I found it a very entertaining game - it was played at a frenetic pace and the Bombers' fightback was outstanding. Goal kicking a bit dodgy but...
