The one thing he has enjoyed not having to deal with is internal club politics. I think Tassie is likely to be best in that regard. Time will tell but any of the four would be mad not to not knock on his door.

End of era I think for the Dees.
Most of their big names are over the hill or not in form and the gameplan has become predictable and ineffectual now that those powers can't perform with the same output.
They don't need a full rebuild but Lever and May aren't the juggernauts they once were and won't contribute to any further flags.
If the culture was stronger they could probably approach it in the way Collingwood and Geelong do by topping up with free agents and wantaway players but that just doesn't seem likely for the Melbourne football club at the moment.
I feel for the Dees in the sense that bullshit reactive rule changes from the AFL thwarted them from securing Mac Andrew when other clubs like the Bulldogs are continually gifted quality talls through sheer luck and timing. Having a piece like Andrew would certainly fast-track their return to the top 4 but they are just a couple of quality players short to generate cohesive chains of possession.
Petracca will probably ask to leave again and frankly, the Dees should take a deal now while the picks have value before the Tassie dilution.
I think Goodwin should be tapped on the shoulder with a view to the future firmly on the horizon.
