A solid rather than spectacular performance from Murphy Reid was all that was needed for the Dragons to roll over the top of the Stingrays, recording a comfortable win and booking their place in another Talent League grand final. While not a dominant display, Murphy was as always a prime mover for Sandy at stoppage and heavily involved in their attacking wave run through the middle with his elite decision making and classy disposal a feature.

He rode his luck at times, and wasn't able to hold onto as many marks as you might like, but he competed like a demon in the air and on the ground and refused to give an inch or allow anything easy for his opponents. Faull's streak of excellent goal kicking form and his elevated play during this finals campaign has seen his draft stocks begin to rise again.

A heavily requested game from bomber fans who've waited all year for their NGA prospect Jayden Nguyen to be released from his back pocket to play a more expansive role for Calder. We got to see it finally in his last game of the season, and he responded by showing how adept he is as a midfielder and how capable he is at getting first hands on the footy registering 8 clearances for the game. He played mostly onball through the first half before being shifted back into more of his traditional small defender role in the second. Like many on the day, he struggled with the strong wind and committed several costly turnovers by foot.

Its that time of year. We're winding everything up, no new games after this weekend so time to focus instead on filling in gaps.

Three straight Talent League flags for Levi to stamp his as one of the all time great junior careers. He led his team all game in fantastic fashion, and was especially damaging early as his Dragons surged out of the gate to a huge lead that was never threatened and turned this game into a cakewalk.

Any chance of some Ollie Hannaford footage from yesterday where he played almost all in the midfield....has to be getting close to 1st round discussion cos yesterday would only have elevated him in recruiters eyes surely.

Sam Marshall was deservedly named best on ground in a grand final that his Dragons dominated from the opening bounce. Marshall was dominant early as the Dragons kicked away to an enormous lead, kicking goals and breaking lines to setup his teammates, and he kept up his relentless pace the rest of the way to ensure his team kept their foot on the throat of their opponents. Marshall has quietly put together a stellar campaign, improving his game over the course of the last two years to stamp himself as one of the most capable and versatile outside mid prospects in the pool. The flaws in his game are hard to find... his running power allows him to break lines and he combines that with the agility to dance around opponents and slip tackles, his decision making is excellent and disposal solid. He's even capable of going inside and winning his own footy when required.

Yep I've done a couple of Hannaford's games and his GF performance coming today. I'll be doing more Dattoli.

A quite remarkable performance from Ollie Hannaford who must have run Sam Marshall close for the grand final BOG medal even in a losing side. He seemed to have a hand in everything good for the Rebels, attacking contests hard, winning the footy and making excellent descisions with quality disposal. With his team facing such a deficit he would have been forgiven for dropping off his energy and workrate, or at least showing signs of frustration, but he never wavered in his energetic attempts to drive his team forward and create positive outcomes. This kind of performance on the biggest junior stage in the face of adversity franks his outstanding form through the back half of the Talent League season and should see his draft prospects significantly boosted.

Armstrong was pretty well held for much of the game, with his opponents able to apply enough pressure on him in marking contests that he struggled to hold onto his marks. In spite of those struggles he still showed just how dangerous he can be by capitalising on the few opportunities that did come his way, slotting four majors.
