Toby Whan Kenobi has arrived from a galaxy far far away to make a serious run at the first round of the 2025 AFL draft. A booming left foot kick and a solid frame that allows him to compete hard at the contest, Whan is part of a super exciting WA cohort for next season. Keep an eye out for the sandgropers at the 2025 National Champs.

Pies fans will be excited to hear that Tom McGuane is shaping to be an excellent prospect in the 2025 draft pool. A little undersized for the midfield at this stage, he makes up for it with fantastic movement around congestion and ability to damage on the spread. This game was heavily affected by the windy conditions, and while Tom misplaced a few disposals he managed better than most, growing in influence and helping his Jets team claw back from a significant scoreboard deficit in the second half before ultimately falling short.

Greeves has been playing understudy to Josh Smillie this season at Eastern and shapes as a similar elite level prospect for next season. A big bodied midfielder standing 191cm tall with the speed and agility of a much smaller man, excellent disposal skills paired with quick and decisive decision making. In this game we see him racking up a lot of the footy as well as showing his ability to influence stoppage and create scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates.

Onley shapes as another prototype of the modern big midfielder standing 194cm tall with the pace and agility to navigate midfield traffic and lovely quick hands in tight spaces. As a bottom ager he got a lot of run as a core onballer at the Champs which says a lot about the high regard that the Vic Country coaching staff have for him and his game. I would love to see Riley put a lot of work into his disposal by foot over the pre-season as his final kick inside 50 or shot on goal can too often spoil his excellent build up work.

Dyson Sharp will enter next season as many people's favourite to go pick 1 in the 2025 draft. He's a tough and brave contested inside mid with enough versatility to his game to play and thrive in other roles. His stoppage work is a standout, his reading of the tap and movement always seems to put him in the right place at the right time and he plays with a physical edge to absorb contact or apply pressure of his own. He's already shown that he can impact in a major way at senior SANFL level as a 17 year old, more than physically ready, the only slight question mark at this stage being his decision making at times where he has more time and space than he realises and rushes into a disposal, something that we can probably expect to improve with more experience at the level.

Another potential top 10 fancy from the Gold Coast Suns academy, which is fast becoming a real talent factory, Zeke seems certain join his brother Bodhi on the Suns senior list come November 2025. A run and gun half back, Zeke's major point of difference comes from his cannon of a left boot which he regularly uses to lace out his key forwards or roost goals from outside 50.

Here we see Zeke making his VFL debut and acquitting himself well, including bombing one of his trademark goals from outside 50.

Cody played most of his bottom age season as a key defender at Colts level and for WA at the champs, impressing people enough to get himself firmly into the first round conversation for 2025. Late in the season Claremont threw him forward and he responded with back to back 6 goal games to demonstrate his elite potential.

Apologies for the poor audio quality at times in this one.

Following in the footsteps of Isaac Kako, Hussien El Achkar is another name for Bombers fans to get excited about from their NGA program. A nuggety and powerful forward who can rotate into the midfield, El Achkar has plenty of tricks in his bag. In this game those tricks were all on display as he racked up some seriously impressive numbers, one of few to shine on the day given the extremely windy conditions.

Josh Lindsay put himself firmly on the radar for 2025 with his BOG performance in the under 17 futures game on grand final day. A dashing defender with a classy and creative left foot, in this game he shows his ability to read the play and take intercept marks. He also managed to win a few clearances at stoppage, perhaps hinting at a potential future move into the midfield.

Archie Ludowyke is an interesting talent with plenty of supporters and some detractors. He started the season strongly, hitting the scoreboard regularly and getting called up to play a game for Vic Metro where he had some nice moments. His close to the season wasn't as strong, particularly struggling to impact during the Dragons finals run. He's a moments player at this stage, able to find space inside the forward 50 and hit up strongly at the ball carrier. His set shot goal kicking can be variable, and he does struggle at times with his overhead marking, tending to double grab, although he has shown an ability to clunk them when he gets it right.

Sam Cumming is a midfield/forward prospect from South Australia with a versatile skill set. He's strong overhead for his size which allows him to present as a marking target in the forward 50 or around the ground, he cracks in at contest and stoppage and possesses finishing skills on the outside. A prospect that many will be keenly watching in 2025, he appears to have the attributes needed to have his name in the first round conversation.

Daniel Annable is a tough and strong inside mid with some outside flair. Well developed and mature for his age which allowed him to thrive at the Champs as a bottom ager, Annable seems likely to follow Sam Marshall in graduating from the Lions Academy to their first team, quite possibly via a bid in the first round of the 2025 draft.
