That wasn't the right way to put it.

Would you say he chose gav becaue he thought he was the best option? Or do you think his $300k contract had anything to do with it?

Who knows...but it's amazing that since the football department has changed we're churning out guys like McKenzie, as opposed to Urquhart, who's a good man but also a top 25 pick in a supposed top draft and has still shown nothing after 4+ years.

Agree with most of the above sentiments.

Will add couple of things.

-Mabon: Would also add that Mabs has barely played VFL seniors, and didn't look out of place around the ground. He goes in hard at ground level and reads the play well loose behind the ball. Would have racked up a few hit outs after working his way into it in the second half, and got quite a few possies over the duration of game I reckon. Without being overly exited at, I was pleasantly surprised with his performance in a side that was down for the whole day.

-Bmac: Seems to run to the right places, and has the knack of creating time and space when he has the ball. Could have nailed a few goals if he had have kicked a fraction straighter.

-Cruize: Still working away nicely.

Assuming Cunners and Azza (who were named) didn't play either?

Would like to hear more about Cam Delaney and Warren's game. Cruize is obviously there and waiting should we need him, we know what we're going to get. B-Mac is building, I can feel it.

Disappointed that Richo and Black aren't getting more glowing praise.

No rush with Mabon. He basically has until Hamish hangs them up to improve his body shape, fitness, skills, smarts, etc. I have a good feeling about him.

Richo knocked up some possies, but he is still finding touch.

Black threatened on many occasions and was double teamed. He still clunked a couple of nice marks and kicked something like 2.3.

He needs more size and i'm not too fussed if he plays seniors this year. He's coming along. The talent is undeniable. No rush.

Mabon looks like a very good follower/KPP prospect. He also has talent. Named in the bests in only his 3rd VFL match. Just needs more time and size.

Agree with all this.

Black really does need time. As much as we get excited by the prospect of him playing, he still has an enormous amount of developing to do physically. Watching him today, I reckon he will be a KP one day ( I wasn't so sure for a while), his all round agility and skills is going to make him something pretty special once he fills out.

Mabon is another that really impresses. Moves really well for a bloke his height. Has good skills below the knees. Just to skinny to compete and that wont change for a few years.

McKenzie looks like a gun in the making. That left boot is just drool worthy.

2.4 and was pretty good considering the wind and lack of supply. Presented strongly to half back at times and works really hard. Would love to see him in the seniors.
