Footy Pie, this is the exact reason that Birchipians/Watchemites get frustrated with Nully trying to recruit our players. If you feel that we are a desperate club, why are you advocating poaching players from us? There is no issue with Brad Ryan, he is a 32 year old who has played in two premierships for us. If he wishes to go elsewhere to try his hand at coaching, we wish him the best of luck. It is the going after school kids that leaves a sour taste in people's mouths. If this is untrue, then there is no issue.

One last point before this comes to a close....didn't Dale and Reece Poyner go and play for Birchip when they were 16 and 14 for a couple of years, because Birchip approached them??...yep, so Birchip also approach school kids.....ISSUE CLOSED (and Nully has not spoken to Ruben).

Horsham boys staying in Horsham. You can see by their posts that the Mallee boys get a bit overexcited. Note to Birchip boys: you have not picked up a player until they have signed, does'nt matter when the clearance form needs to be in by. Having some beers with the Wimmera's best Footballers at the Royal does'nt mean they are going play with you.

Horsham Demons coach Stuart Farr has turned his back on a lucrative offer from North Central Football League club Birchip-Watchem to stay in Wimmera Football League. Farr signed on to coach Horsham Demons in 2009 late on Sunday night.
Horsham team-mates Luke Carr and Aaron Barnett have also knocked back enticing offers from Birchip-Watchem to stay in Wimmera Football League.
Carr and Barnett will be assistant coaches to Farr at Horsham.
For the full story, see Wednesday's Wimmera Mail-Times

Apparently this guy (i don't know his name) had already given his word to another NCFL club (am told Donald), but was approached with an undeniable offer from the Bulls.

If you're just here to mock other people FP, then this isn't the best place for you

They'd b lucky 2 even get 1 of those boys, im pretty sure barny n burkey wouldnt leave the demons...especially when there could b another premiership on the cards!

Ahhh so the rumour could be true after all then, i did hear on the grapevine that you may be playing 4 St Arnaud next year Speedy along with a few others from Navarre!
So is this true or what? They'd have 2 be giving you some coin 4 you 2 be traveling back there each week wouldn't they?

So....................... have we established who will be coaching Birchip Watchem as yet? Or has she fallen through? M4S you've gone this far, dont pull out like someone should have!!!! Its a rumour mill this site anyway, who cares if your wrong!

Its all good to "nurture the talent" but the club has a responsibility to look after those who don't have "the talent"

I won't name names, but over the past few years, we've seen quite a few youngsters head up to Nully, because they "hated the shit" at the Bulls. Infact, the Son of a long time, proud and passionate Watchem fellow went up to Nully just a last year wasn't it?[/quote]

Is that the same son that played during the year, and didnt get a game in the minor league seconds grandfinal, when blokes 40+++ were playing? Oh, yeh, double standards i hear. Them selectors would of made chunky very happy with that. :thumbsu: Was bored, and i must have missed that stupid quote a few weeks ago.

Been nothing written on here for a week, no new players signed, nothing happening. Surely there is plenty of action going on around the league. Thiesz to balranald, but charlton about to sign up a heap of fellas, could be the team to beat already. Big stenhouse staying put? Anyone left from boort or wedderburn yet????

Lets get back to footy and find out what is really happening. Aint heard much from donald or St Arnaud???? Any news?

Wyche - Marty Shadbolt

Birchip - Some one. from some where. that told one they'd coach some where.
St Arnaud - Egan??
Boort - Walklate
Charlton - Rick Andrews
Wedderburn - Gash

Walklate signed as coach and Rick A as coach for charlton :thumbsu:

True about Hayes. Signed last week some time, no real suprise though. Bit of news with the Advertiser announicing Damien Lock going to Perth next year. Best on Ground in Grand Final, David Havanecki, to leave the Redbacks and go with him. Apparently some association of when Locky was at Colbo and Fev at Elmore.

Hmmm, If we go by the timetable, the league merger talk isn't expected until next year!

Nardoo has some fine thoughts, but for the moment, things are fine as they are.

I believe the NCFL CEO/GM is on a 2 year contract?
