What sort of midfielders do North already have, and what types are they currently missing?
I personally feel we need a tackling two-way mid to help Wardlaw, and free up LDU to be more offensive.

Looking like it's Lalor at 1, we take FOS with 2.

Or FOS at 1, we trade with Saints so they can grab Lalor at 2.

Don't expect 7+8, more likely a split of 8 with GWS. So maybe 7 + 15 or 16.

Not sure Trainor will slide to 15 unfortunately.

I don’t think there has been to much interest from us to trade up to be honest we just need quality and this is probably the most even top ten in history there’s not really any absolute standouts . This is the type of draft we’re the best player might end up going at pick 10

Who does the saits supporters like with the 2 picks

Not what I’m hearing , anyway we’re stupid if we do the trade plenty of quality available at 7 & 8 . maybe if future picks were involved but I definitely wouldn’t be giving up 7-8 unless there something very decent coming back
I dont anyone thinks you'd trade 7+8 for 2.
More like 7+f1 or 7+15 if you split 8 with gws.

Would much rather just take picks 7-8
to draft gives us two chances, lalor is good but I don’t see anything standout about him to warrant a big trade, the dusty comparisons are ridiculous , and to trade 7 and a future first just to move up 5 places is way overs. With how even the top ten is in the draft no one is paying overs to move up

Fair enough. Maybe your club will think the same.

Whilst we keep hearing how even the draft is, not all clubs will feel this way. The only player I'd be happy for us to take at 2 is FOS. The rest of the mids are either a bit meh or we don't really need their type.

Langford probably suits your midfield more with the midfield list North have currently IMO

Lol, no.

On what basis? We already have a side very capable around stoppage, clearance etc and Don't really need anymore through there, particularly as McKercher will start logging some CBA's in the near future.

FOS will fit seamlessly onto the opposite wing long term to McKercher if we keep pick 2 and Richmond draft Lalor.

Would North fans rather take pick 2 or trade back to get The Viking and Armstrong

I'd rather Pick 2 if the deal wasn't beneficial.

FOS couldn't be a better fit around what we've already accumulated. Outside polish, big engine, capable of playing the outside roles as well as forward, half back, wing and inside. I've said this on these boards for 12 months.

He'd essentially be our J.Kelly/McCluggage and we have Colby on the other wing....

KPP is nowhere near as dire as they were 12 months ago with the emergence of Comben and Xerri.

Ideally we'd take a young KPF, but if it doesn't fit best available and a beneficial deal, you take the other need.

If Melbourne offered 5 and 9 for 2 and a f1?

(just estimating, not saying they should)

I agree, the KPP thing is overrated by the media/BF for us (and will add I expect Wil Dawson to be spoken of as a KPP draft win in the coming seasons not to mention Logue is now uninjured). Take pick 2, get a cream on top mid and then work future picks in to get some KPP prospects.

I’ve heard we are really keen on smilie so it wouldn’t surprise me if we traded up a couple of spots to 5-6 range were I see him probably going at . Lalor will be a good player but I see him as being more a utility type very similar to philipou who we already have , we need pure mids a big contested bull to replace Steele and a hard runner with pace .

Smillie isn't really a big contested bull.

He's a big kid, but that isn't his playing style at all.

He plays like a balanced traditional mid and likes to get a big portion of his ball on the outside as a second reciever.

It's the main issue recruiters have with him.

He's not Patrick Cripps or Tom Green and Bontempelli had some massive games as a permanent forward as a junior.
