Thats in a normal year but i would highly doubt that would happen this year where Futures are not rated
See I just cant believe this re next year. I think next year will be heaps better at the top end.

Dyson Sharp - insane
Fred Rodriguez - WA - go and look at his vids.....the best duel sided player I've seen.....I'll tell you he's right footed...then watch his video, looks like Bont on his left.
Archi Ludowyke - KP gun
Ollie Greeves - jet mid

There's plenty to like about next year.......too many have drunk the Kool-Aid.....it's part media driven. But make no mistake, they will be creaming themselves over next year next Oct/Nov

Next year's top end is indeed far better than this year. It's just heavily compromised by academy/father son picks and drops off a lot more than this year.

The top 6 or so will be elite though.

I haven't seen proof of this either. Every year has been heavily compromised by Academies and FS.......trust me, we've been down the bottom for 5(?) years....no access to Jamara, Walter, Darcy, Ashcroft(s), Daicos it's bloody endless and has been for a long time now.
So tell me in what world is North Melbourne's F1 not worth a top 10 pick?? It's Richmond's world right now, and we are all buying it....well some of us are. I am not.
Tigers would be insane to not be trying to get their hands on our F1......they have what we want...."nah, 6 is being held for Smillie".............please!!
The need to get 6+10/11+18 involved....could set themselves up in for their next dynasty, which sucks because we are kinda planning on one too.

Thats the thing

There is only Richmond that hold the picks to be the trading partner with no other team in the top 10 that want to trade out
thats why North should just hold the pick.

Why do they want to trade it ? specially for such a discount

I'd just be holding onto F1st if I were North. It'll likely be a top 5 pick next year, where the talent projects as significantly better, at this stage.

Maybe bring future second in instead, for a team looking for points next season.

There is no way p6 and either p10/11 plus p18 will be traded for p2 and F1. Zero chance.
I think it’s more to norths benefit to split p2. Tigers aren’t that desperate unless the deal is overwhelmingly in their favour. That’s not idle talk. Just the value that Blair Hartley has put on those picks.
North have p2 then p62. Big gap. Maybe p18, 20 and 23. 3 later first round picks. North keep F1. It all depends on who or what they’re after. Spread the risk, reap the reward.we’ll just have to wait and see what the list managers believe suits them best.

I hope this is the way it plays out.

It's obvious that pick 6 should be the catalyst for a trade of pick 2, all logic points that way.

What has happened though is that a well respected ITK poster from the Carlton board has shared information on the Tigers board that picks 6 & 24 are off the table. It's no wonder then that Tigers posters are running with that info.

It's obvious from Rawlings comments that North want to split pick 2 and pretty obvious that the reason for that is to get a preferred tall by just sliding back a few picks as well as gaining another first round pick.

I don't know whether the Saints picks come into consideration as they fall outside Rawlings stated range.

If North are keen on their targeted tall then why not just bite the bullet and take him at 2, it was good enough for GWS when they took Cadman.

In any other year North would expect to get good value for their F1 by bringing it forward and from all reports, including club list managers, this is the year to target. The trouble for North is firstly, that projection, but also the perception that North will rise, whether that's right or wrong doesn't matter, it's expected. Thirdly, the picks that North would expect to target ie: 10-14 are all tightly held, the Tigers won't trade out of this years 1st round until their later picks come around and the teams that hold 12-13-14 only have the one pick and would be extremely unlikely to trade that out, then you get to GWS who already knocked back pick 3 for 15 & 16.

Article comes out today with all the pick 6++ permutations. Everyone’s been played. I’ll be amazed if it’s not pick 6 in the mix.
Have no idea what that breakdown would be, but it’s fun to guess……that’s what we are all doing, “guessing”.
Tigers supporters state stuff like it’s fact. You might be right, but you don’t know. No one knows.
If Richmond could get their hands on our F1 in the pick 2 deal, look at what their next 2 years draft hand could be.
“No way! Pick 6 is earmarked for Smillie”……..righto.
I hope you are right and we don’t trade. If ain’t got a 6 in the deal we should be out. Pick 10/11 could mean Tauru AND Armstrong are off the board. How stupid would that be of North.
Ya got 6 and 23 for Dan Friggin Rioli didn’t you…….Could be the move that sets your club up for 10-15 years in the middle, but Smillie’s ya man??? Playing with house money has gone to your heads.
But I think you should be taking Draper at 2 if you end up with it.
Lalor and Draper would tear teams apart. That’s who I’d be wanting if I was a tigers supporter.

It really is like a TikTok algorithm in here. Hilarious.

Dont let it get to you mate

Nobody here knows anything we all just hope our teams dont stuff it up but it will be what it will be
Not getting to me, and won’t.
I’ve spent far too much time on here over the long weekend. But it’s fun. Most people go all right, super one-eyed but they go alright.
There is the old “Just *kn fold already North!!” type mentality , stands out like dogs balls with what they think we should accept, but I enjoy taking to other supporters about what they think.

Shouting that out about North is really *kn ordinary BTW

Tiger mates growing up , teenagers to 30’s, were always the funniest and loosest blokes, they had to be. But had great times out and about with them. Still do. They are still funny but there’s a new over aggressive type that’s arrived. Or has maybe returned with the recent success. It didn’t work out for them after the 80’s as they tried to crunch their rivals and win at every player movement deal.

I’ve quoted this a few times, but one of best old Racing sayings is “Always back self interest, at least you know it’s trying!” Love it.

I’ve said this before too, but Richmond under Benny Gale saw what they had dormant and completely changed the course of the club. But they didn’t do it through becoming ruthless and difficult to deal with. They did it with calculated risks, evolving the club and involving their supporter base in everything.
If you can be bothered just choose a random game, any game, that Richmond won from 17 to 2020 and watch Hardwick after match conference.
You’ll be hooked by how unbelievable this bloke was with mentioning the supporters over and over and their gratefulness for the “Richmond people” and their connectedness and passion for club.
The sponsors by name and their eternal gratefulness to them. Again and again in every press conference. It was a masterstoke employing Hardwick and so ridiculously dumb of the bombres to exclude him because PowerPoint presentation wouldn’t load. But the upside is Richmond became a power and not the Tullamarine club.

This is why I feel, coincidently the article comes out with all the pick 6 permutations. They are involving you but also feeling you out for what works for the masses as well.

I’m not that sure that it is only Richmond. But Richmond need to be also careful with their demands too……I’m sure that Hartley doesn’t deal with other clubs like supporters do on here, there was a rumour the other days that Blair was trying to facilitate deals that would make North happy. Don’t know what those deals were but he could be trying to position us where we need to be. We could have said we want Tauru and Armstrong with the possibility of Trainor or Gerryn, for example. Joe Berry could be on our wish list. And we’ve apparently spent a fair bit of time with Xavier Lindsay.
The beauty for others, like us, is that you do hold a lot of picks, so we could’ve mapped out a plan together. Who knows.
I just don’t believe Hartley is sitting there saying to Brady, “we’ve got ya mate, you are faarked! Take it or leave it!” Just not how this stuff works.

I honestly think Blair is happy with the picks we hold and not really fussed about moving up but is trying to improve our capital.
10 for 13 +29 i see as just a slight down grade where the player we believe would still be and getting an extra pick
we will most likely move 2 picks into future 1st rounders and take 5-6 players this trade
We most likely have our eyes on a player like Berry or Hotton and 10 or 11 is too high and is looking to move ut for an extra and get that player at value.

Yeah right. Pick 1 and 2, possibly 2 years in a row has gotta be in the mix.
Can you imagine how busy he must be. Bloody hell.
Is he an ex player? I don’t remember the name as a player.

Yep, it’s the only reason why two other clubs have been invited into the conversation. Blair is a tough but fair negotiator and will try to get North something close to what they are asking, as well as obviously looking after RFC interests. How that looks in the end, who knows at this stage.

Yeah Hartley seems a good operator to me……I asked someone else this, but what’s his background? I don’t remember him as a player. His name sort of feels vaguely familiar as a player.

We got him from Port Adelaide in 2010 from recollection. He’s very good at what he does, I’ve been to a number of presentations and he’s a great planner.
A genuinely good bloke to talk to as well.

So was he an ex player? That’s what I’m interested in. Think it’s great that a lot of these positions are being held by non ex-players……it’s a different game now, lots to project and plan.
