Traded Luke Parker - traded with Jacob Konstanty to North Melbourne for pick 44

F3 is bang on. Sydney need points next year.
Yep this should be straight forward

If they aren’t caving on 62

Let him go Sydney bloody hell he give his all for your club.
They are haggling for the sake of it

They have nothing else on this trade period

Oh **** off. Parker's contracted for another year, is in our best 23 players (as evidenced by the fact he played GF day), and has been offered a 3 year deal to move. Those south of the border have the VIC media telling them that interstate clubs should sell / "heartland" clubs should buy for cents on the dollar so often that it's seen as a god-given right. Adams was traded last year for pick 33, and the onus is on NM to get this done.
Maybe you shouldn't have farewelled him at your B&F night if you intended on keeping him. Pick 25 is an embarrassing request from the Swans.

Just because you over paid for Adams dosen't mean that we have to follow. We did it last year with Stephens - we would be stupid to go back to back....

Totally agree with this.

At the same time, 44 isn’t exactly overs and this could have also been on the table from the start…..

Sydney being dumb demanding 2nd rounder, but north not showering themselves in glory either. If we were offered 44 and knocked it back we would be looking like absolute flogs.

Interesting stand off, do north need experience more than Sydney need him off the books…. Both needs are strong…

44 or next years 3rd round looks fair for both sides - or maybe even a swap of 2nd rounders.

I seem to remember you saying many trades past that the team that chases the player needs to pay up.

What's changed?

My money is on the eventual deal being:

NM: Pick 44 + Future 4th
Sydney: Parker plus future 4th
Not sure why north would agree to swapping future 4th's when 44 alone is already overs.

Sydney are kidding themselves asking for 27 when you look at the history of blokes moving at his age with his level of experience.

Just off the top of my head, Hodge, Mitchell and Lewis all left for 60+ and the situation is practically identical.

This is not young elite talent that is being traded - Darling, Parker and even Stringer don't hold the value they did 5 years ago. A 3rd round pick for these players is paying up.

Yeah, this has only got this far because both clubs have come up with ridiculous opening offers. Pick 62 and Pick 25. 44 is right in the middle or F3, it seems so simple. I can't see how this doesn't get done.

The 25 request was obviously a reaction to the first offer being 60+, in that if the opposition is going to try and anchor the value that low, you need to anchor high in order to achieve an equitable outcome. I doubt that any Swans fans (or the Swans admin themselves) actually expect to receive 25.

Have you ever worked in sales or a role that requires negotiating? Not every unacceptable offer is "embarrassing", it's part of the dance.

It will get done, North were half trying to get Caleb Daniel with some of these picks. Whether it be a F3 or pick 44, really non fussed. It may be the 62 plus some swaps next year too, wouldn't completely rule that out.

Future 4th is pointless. Literally. Only points until end of 3rd round next year.

Sydney have academy players next year. They'll want points. F3 on its own is enough

RIP bloods culture

The pieces left after the Caleb Daniel trade will show you what this one will be.

Not sure that'll factor into it tbh.

The Parker deal will be either 44 or F3, with the possibility of some meaningless late pick swaps.
Yeah, he’s still good and has plenty to offer but he’s 32 before the first ball is bounced next year

Might only get one or two good years out of him

Both parties acutely aware of this

Contracted 32 year old get that part right.

Apparently Konstanty will be in the deal too

Why not give him more game time this year as well as extend him then?
