Re: North on the Brink

even then, we would still have been called Melbourne.. so I would have gone for Melbourne.

Now.. you?

I think you would find most really passionate North people would be so disgusted by what has happened the thought of contributing to the AFL makes them feel sick.

I would probably feel that way, but I guess I would barrack gor the Buldogs. Most people would agree they are next in line after us. So I guess I would probably like to try an help so they dont have to go through what North supporters went through.

We'll miss them both.

Yeah, OK, I know, cheap shot.

It amazes me the Mentality of Demetriou and Co,they have been pouring money into Sydney and QLD over the last 10 years or more and even with Sydney and Brisbanes success they struggle to get crowds, and take into account the population of Sydney being around 4 Million, and struggle to get 10,000 crowd for some games.

I don't see the SCG or ANZ Stadium featured here. I do note York Park four times. How does this support the Tasmanian cause?

Sydney played in two of the games, one a home game for the Bulldogs in Canberra (close to capacity at that venue and mostly Sydney supporters) and the other a home game for Port. The Swans and Lions draw respectable crowds especially if compared to NRL in what are NRL dominated states.

Re: North on the Brink

JB's days numbered ? Someone has to be responsible for this predicament. Shouldn't have come to this.

North won't fold. I don't think any of the current teams will be allowed to fold for a fair while. Mergers are a possibility though.
Incorrect, 18 is the number, the magic number. if teams merge that will leave 17. a bad number, an odd number. The new TV rights deal would be made on the proviso of having 9 games each week.
Rellocation or Collocation is definately on the agenda and a perfect fit for the AFL Re; Tassie.
Lets hope it doesnt come to that.
