Out - LMac - a statement needs to be made - zero tackles in the debacle yesterday from a defender is unacceptable.

In - Wardlaw

Simpkin is struggling and deserves to go and there are a myriad of other changes that would ideally happen but LMac out should be non-negotiable.

is there room for both wardlaw and wiphi in the same team?

do we have any defenders available who can replace on the 48 forwards we have playing back there?
Wardlaw can play off HFF pushing up and be given a bit of a rest role as a defensive forward if necessary. We need more pace at the drop (especially as we're really good at the dropping part of that statement).

Stephens can f off.
Scott is wing or f off.
Sheezel through the middle.
Even though he's not a natural I'd put Zurhaar through the middle quite a bit more just to have some more physicality in there.

Unfortunately McDonald arnt going to be dropped not this week not the week after or week after that
You are more than likely on the mark with that statement, sadly he is not providing the leadership back there as far as I can see as everyone is out of position and scrambling when the ball comes in. I am sure he is a top bloke, but they need a seasoned mind back there or at least someone who can apply a little more pressure and some additional skill.

I'm all for mass changes but I look at the possible inclusions. They fall into three categories

1) Unproven kid who'll be fed to the wolves and who we'll be begging to be dropped in a few weeks time
2) Proven dud who'll give us nothing and who we'll be begging to be dropped in a few weeks time
3) George Wardlaw

The club is totally rooted.

Yep unfortunately the 23 out there are likely are best 23 minus wardlaw and Logue

And Goater but out for the year

And sleevo when in form

And Finnbar/sellers/CCJ line ball for that chf spot

I don’t think Bergman fits in any of the above categories - he needs to be in the team. George should also be given a taste for a few weeks as well. I’d hold off on Hardeman and Maley until at least mid season.

Out Lmac and Simpkin
In Bergman and Wardlaw..

George could be a chance to debut

Probably.

and this is a shuffling deck chairs bit as we debut a kid we took as a Mid/Fwd as a HBF.

I'd bring in Archer and move McDonald to the Half back line. He's not getting dropped.

bring George in play him there too.

Scott to the wing, Fisher to the forward line(or out of the team), and Stephens out of the side, if we retain Fisher drop Tucker.

No more backline for Colby or Sheez. Colby on the wing only.

Sheez through the guts because we really need our captain dictating play where we have the most chance of winning the ball.

He's got some promise but is obviously in Category 1. What has he proven so far?

Yep even if Finnbar don’t kick a goal he will crash packs and bring the ball to ground, unfortunately Sellers isn’t having any impact.
I was hoping to see a bit of exciting forward craft from Sellers. He lined up at FF at the start of the game and in Q1 there were two occasions where the ball lobbed into the North goal square and Sellers stood flat footed allowing the opponent who'd taken front position to take a simple uncontested mark. Obviously Sellers recognised that he'd misjudged the flight of the ball and his opponent had the sit but the bare minimum would have been to try to punch the ball to give the small crumbing forwards a chance to shark it.... Oh.

I'm looking forward to seeing Finbarr make his debut for North on the weekend.

I don’t think anything this dramatic will happen and I don’t agree with all your suggestions but have to applaud the general theme of moving players to where they can play their best.
Yes. Have to agree with that. Even if it doesn't turn around the results it allows the players to develop in the role / position that will deliver their best personal performances and even though it's a team sport, if the guys are in the spots where they can play their best football you'd think that the team would be better for it.

Actually glad its not in Melbourne which is pretty bad as Hobart normally sh!ts me. But watching Adelaide kick 24 goals live doesnt seem appealing.

FB - Archer, Corr, Biggie
HB - Bergman, Comben, Hardeman
C - Scott, LDU, Mckercher
HF George, larkey fisher
FF - Curtis, sellers Zurhaar
FOL Xerri, Wardlaw, Sheezel
INT Phillips, Powell, Duursma, simpkin
Laz

Out

Doesn’t matter but
Out- sellers, duursma, Stephens
In- archer, Bergman, george

More importantly,
Sheezel at half forward/ rover.
Mckercher/ Scott both rotate on the wing with tucker who’s only in because he’s got no one else to compete with.
Archer, Bergman, George all play down back.
Zurhaar can stay up forward unless the kids are getting battered in the middle but no more taking on 3 players at once.
Comben can stay back

Forfeit

My family and I are going to Tassie for the Port game. I'm really considering sightseeing instead.

Wardlaw, Greenwood in

Powell, Duursma out

Desperately need a more accountable midfield set up, and LDU is a better front runner.

Powell has been our 2nd best midfielder this year. And not even the rest Will Philips made any difference to the defensive midfield setup on the weekend. Only Wardlaw has been able to do that.

First set of changes: The 5 wingmen instead of a backline thing isn't working.
Out: Stephens and Tucker
Scott and McKercher rescued from half-back oblivion, into the wing
Next: Backline's still ****ed, time to try something else:
Out: Nyuon, Corr
In: Bergman, Pink, George, Archer

Corr and Nyuon are both exactly the same in my mind, except Corr is a fraud figjam and Nyuon is just raw. Absolutely no sense of when to play tight on their man and when to zone off and be a sweeping interceptor. Would be happy to never see either of them again. Comben is all the intercept we need, Pink actually knows how to play tight on a guy and will work hard even if he gets beaten a fair bit. We don't need 3 key talls at least until Dawson and Logue are both back. Fisher can stay, just, but the rest of the group needs to work to make sure he doesn't end up on a tall, ever, and that'll be easier when he's the only undersized non-defender in the backline, rather than one of 3 or 4.

Out: Sellers
In: Greenwood

Tyler earned a shot, but at this point we're just killing his confidence. Hugh offers more as a ground-level player and can be thrown in the middle if we need a burst of physicality and tackling pressure (we do).

If Ford is hurt, straight swap for Wardlaw makes sense. If Wardlaw needs another week, start Lazarro on the bench and make Tucker or anyone else the sub. I liked Charlie's game once he came on, wouldn't mind seeing him sub again. Shiels also an option.
