It's also a rule that the player needs to kick over their mark in line with the goals. Because of the way he marked it, he was 5 steps in towards the centre and in fact, our players weren't even close to the original mark.

Hudson said it was 50 and yet Healey (who ****en hates us!) said he looks like he was playing on (and he was definitely at least thinking about it).

Ultimately, I think forcing him back over the mark was a fair compromise.

It’s funny how protected they are. The umpire in the Freo game actually had the balls to try to put a halt to their delaying tactics. The media then has a big cry about poor Collingwood instead of doing the right thing and bring up how often they use these tactics. Blight on our game.

That's true. Richmond would 100% get pinged for that and so would many other clubs/players.

No the umpire decided momentum took him past the mark. He's then decided the defenders were in there right to think he may have played on. He then chose to reset the mark.

Probably no more than 6 or 7 goals worth though. Almost half of the come back occurred organically, if a team can't kick an extra 2 goals a quarter to get around our umpires then they can't win, simple as that.

2 players ran over the mark that weren’t in the contest and infringed on Scott’s ability to play on.

It is rare the umps asks a player to go back over the mark in the field of play unless they are going for a shot on goal. I think the umps need to but that would take time off the game.
